Electrical Engineer - Depot Operations (Level 2 / Level 3) Mid-Senior Level | Active Secret Clearance Required | $80,000 - $105,000 | Travel: As Required | Onsite: Huntsville, AL Support mission-critical defense sustainment operations-providing electrical engineering expertise for depot-level maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability engineering, system upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment of electrical power, control, and distribution systems supporting national defense programs. A Day in the Life - What you'll do Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, fault isolation procedures, and repair instructions for power distribution units, wiring harnesses, control panels, and other line replaceable units (LRUs). Create, review, and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and engineering specifications using industry-standard electrical design tools. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and condition-based monitoring activities utilizing infrared thermography, vibration analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify recurring system issues and develop corrective actions. Generate reliability assessments, maintenance reports, trend analyses, and engineering recommendations that improve system availability and performance. Author, maintain, and control technical documentation including work instructions, maintenance procedures, test procedures, as-built drawings, maintenance manuals, and configuration records. Coordinate with maintenance personnel, quality assurance teams, logistics organizations, and external vendors to execute repair, maintenance, and modernization activities. Support depot modernization initiatives involving power distribution systems, UPS systems, battery systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and facility infrastructure upgrades. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, depot maintenance procedures, and engineering best practices. Manage engineering configuration data and maintenance records within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Participate in sustainment team meetings, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical guidance supporting mission readiness, equipment reliability, and long-term sustainment objectives. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited institution or closely related engineering discipline * Level 2: Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering or maintenance experience * Level 3: Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical engineering, reliability engineering, or depot sustainment experience * Active DoD Secret security clearance required * Experience supporting electrical maintenance, engineering, or sustainment activities within defense, aerospace, OEM, manufacturing, or military environments * Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or comparable electrical design platforms * Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, grounding systems, UPS systems, battery systems, and fault protection methodologies * Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation * Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM, IBM Maximo, or equivalent asset management platforms * Experience utilizing electrical test equipment and troubleshooting electrical systems * Knowledge of electrical maintenance best practices, reliability engineering principles, and preventive maintenance programs * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary sustainment teams Preferred Qualifications * IPC Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification * Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification * Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification * NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification * OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification * Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric platforms * Experience utilizing condition-based monitoring tools such as infrared thermography and vibration analysis systems * Experience supporting hazardous material (HAZMAT) handling requirements involving batteries, fuel cells, or electrical energy storage systems * Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical for large-scale electrical design and schematic control * Experience utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and configuration management tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill * Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams supporting complex repair, sustainment, or modernization projects * Experience developing technical training materials, maintenance documentation, and engineering procedures * Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), system lifecycle management, and depot sustainment operations Technical Skills Electrical Design: AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical Power Systems: Power Distribution, Grounding Systems, UPS Systems, Battery Management, Fault Protection Systems Control Systems: PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric), HMI Integration, Industrial Controls Reliability Engineering: Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Predictive Maintenance: Infrared Thermography, Vibration Analysis, Reliability Trending, Condition Monitoring Asset Management: SAP PM, IBM Maximo, CMMS Platforms, Configuration Control Technical Documentation: Work Orders, Test Procedures, Maintenance Manuals, As-Built Drawings, Engineering Change Documentation, Configuration Records Who is Caribou Thunder?
