Electrical Engineer - Depot Operations (Level 2 / Level 3) Mid-Senior Level | Active Secret Clearance Required | $80,000 - $105,000 | Travel: As Required | Onsite: Huntsville, AL Support mission-critical defense sustainment operations-providing electrical engineering expertise for depot-level maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability engineering, system upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment of electrical power, control, and distribution systems supporting national defense programs. A Day in the Life - What you'll do Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, fault isolation procedures, and repair instructions for power distribution units, wiring harnesses, control panels, and other line replaceable units (LRUs). Create, review, and approve electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and engineering specifications using industry-standard electrical design tools. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and condition-based monitoring activities utilizing infrared thermography, vibration analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify recurring system issues and develop corrective actions. Generate reliability assessments, maintenance reports, trend analyses, and engineering recommendations that improve system availability and performance. Author, maintain, and control technical documentation including work instructions, maintenance procedures, test procedures, as-built drawings, maintenance manuals, and configuration records. Coordinate with maintenance personnel, quality assurance teams, logistics organizations, and external vendors to execute repair, maintenance, and modernization activities. Support depot modernization initiatives involving power distribution systems, UPS systems, battery systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and facility infrastructure upgrades. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, depot maintenance procedures, and engineering best practices. Manage engineering configuration data and maintenance records within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Participate in sustainment team meetings, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical guidance supporting mission readiness, equipment reliability, and long-term sustainment objectives.
