Overview

Road Runner Sports is looking for a Chief Marketing Officer, with experience at a curated multi-brand Retailer, to join our executive leadership team. You will also run and grow the e-commerce channel. In this role, you will own the full marketing vision for one of the nation's most beloved specialty running retailers, leading brand strategy, customer acquisition, loyalty, performance marketing, and the team that brings it all to life across 50+ stores and our Ecommerce business. You will serve as the voice of our customer in the C-suite, the architect of how millions of runners and walkers experience our brand, and the driving force behind the growth that keeps Road Runner Sports ahead of the field.

As the CMO, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the marketing strategy to drive revenue, brand growth, and customer acquisition
  • Lead the Ecommerce business to generate double-digit annual revenue growth
  • Lead the VIP loyalty program to generate double-digit annual membership growth
  • Support Retail to achieve double-digit annual revenue growth
  • Grow first-time buyers by 5% across Ecommerce and Retail
  • Shape and champion the Road Runner Sports brand through positioning, storytelling, and the customer experience that makes us the retailer runners trust most
  • Build and inspire a world-class marketing team, attracting top talent and creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and performance
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team as a key strategic thought partner on business growth, customer strategy, and long-term brand expansion

What you'll bring:

  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience including senior or executive-level roles in consumer-facing, omni-channel retail and/or D2C organizations
  • A proven track record of driving measurable revenue growth through integrated brand, performance, and lifecycle marketing strategies
  • Deep working knowledge of customer loyalty programs
  • Deep expertise across the full marketing mix, including branding, paid media, SEO/SEM, social, email, SMS, social, affiliate, CRM, loyalty, content, and local store marketing
  • Strong command of analytics, customer data, ROI, and modern marketing technology stacks
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing marketing teams
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire teams, influence the C-suite, and represent the Road Runner Sports brand with credibility and passion
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
