Job description

Job Title: CMM Programmer
Pay Rate: $38.00-42.00/hour
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46217
Area Code: 317
Shift: 1st (Weekend and overtime available)
Employment Type: Direct w/ Full Benefits
Job Overview:
The CMM Programmer supports quality and manufacturing operations by developing, executing, and maintaining CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate dimensional verification of components, supporting MRB activities, and collaborating closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to improve first-pass yield and reduce nonconformances.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, modify, and validate CMM programs using PC DMIS for new and existing parts.
* Perform and support dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Interpret and apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to validate part conformance and identify deviations.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to investigate dimensional issues and support root cause analysis (RCCA).
* Support MRB activities by providing measurement data and technical input for nonconforming hardware.
* Troubleshoot CMM programs and inspection setups to improve measurement accuracy and efficiency.
* Assist with first article inspections (FAI) and capability studies as required.
* Maintain and update inspection documentation, reports, and measurement records.
* Work directly on the shop floor to support in process and final inspections as needed.
* Ensure compliance with AS9100, GE quality standards, and safety requirements.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in inspection methods, workflows, and data usage.
Core Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience in CMM programming and operation using PC-DMIS
* Experience programming CMMs using PC‑DMIS in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation (ASME Y14.5).
* Hands‑on experience performing dimensional inspection using CMM and manual tools.
* Ability to analyze measurement data and support root cause investigation.
* Comfortable working in a shop‑floor, production‑support environment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, repeatable inspection results.
* Ability to communicate effectively with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience supporting aerospace or precision machining environments.
* Familiarity with GE or similar regulated manufacturing quality systems (AS9100).
* MRB / nonconformance disposition
* First Article Inspection (FAI / AS9102)
* Process capability studies (Cp/Cpk)
* Exposure to other inspection/software tools (e.g., Calypso, PolyWorks, or scanning systems).
* Experience working with complex geometries, tight tolerances, and high precision components.
