Job description
Department: Health Professions
- Carry a regular .6 FTE teaching load and .4 FTE Director/CACREP Liaison across an 11-month contract.
- As a ‘teacher-scholar,’ actively engage with students in professional development and mentoring activities.
- Provide a solid role model of wisdom, faith, and service.
- Maintain and post regular office hours as specified in the Faculty Handbook.
- Attend all regular and special faculty meetings.
- Submit course syllabi to the office of the VPAA for each course assigned.
- Complete embedded course assessment and/or program assessment activities in the University evaluation platform.
- Facilitate the evaluation of each of your classes each semester and contribute to the evaluation of the curriculum and instruction, ensuring the delivery of quality academic programs.
- Contribute to development of library resources in areas of teaching expertise.
- Participate in academic and/or licensure advising, as assigned.
- Follow the current Faculty Handbook as it pertains to faculty roles and responsibilities.
- Interact with the Registrar’s office in transcript evaluation and recording of student progress, as required.
- Actively participate in marketing of the programs as well as forming partnerships with colleagues and students where appropriate.
- Contribute to the integration of faith and learning by addressing this issue in class and in curriculum standards.
- Serve on at least one major faculty committee, as assigned by the VPAA (e.g., CACREP Accreditation, CSI)
- Collaborate with enrollment, admission, and advancement staff, to develop and cultivate community partnerships (e.g., internships, practicums) and to maximize recruitment activities that would benefit the institution and program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure academic quality and student-centered delivery of all courses and program information delivery.
- Review and approve program syllabi each semester and sub-session for all program courses.
- Work with program faculty to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention.
- Collaborate with the Bushnell instructional supports to ensure effective use of Canvas and online resources for all departmental programs and courses.
- Collaborate with advising staff to ensure effective advising and mentoring for all students in the program.
- Supervision and support of all:
- full-time and part-time CMHC program faculty, monitoring faculty performance and conducting routine performance reviews;
- full-time and part-time staff including the on-site clinic manager and ensure that the clinic runs efficiently and to its full capacity;
- adjunction faculty;
- and student workers.
- Ongoing operations:
- Facilitate faculty and staff meetings for the program.
- Develop and administer the program operating budget.
- Oversee CMHC assessment procedures and program review for courses in the program and ensure compliance with institutional assessment standards.
- Oversee CMHC compliance with CACREP accreditation standards and be responsible for accreditation-related activities and reporting for the program.
- Identifying strategic faculty positions and recruit qualified candidates.
- Recruit, screen, and provide orientation for adjunct faculty as required.
- Interdepartmental Functions:
- Serve on at least one faculty committee, as assigned by the VPAA (e.g., CSI Lead Advisor)
- Collaborate with enrollment, admission, and advancement staff, to develop and cultivate community partnerships (e.g., internships, practicums) and to maximize recruitment activities that would benefit the institution and program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Earned doctorate required in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited university or designated as a Core faculty in a CACREP Clinical Mental Health program required.
- Record of excellence in teaching adults students with sufficient experience to be appointed at the Assistant rank and previous experience in academic administration is highly desirable.
- Holding a current Oregon LPC license or ability to be licensed in Oregon is required, as well as current NCC or NCMHCE credentials and membership in the ACA.
- Knowledge of Oregon LPC licensing standards, Oregon law pertaining to clinical mental health counselors and CACREP Standards required.
- Familiarity with CACREP 2024 curriculum standards is essential.
- Candidate must be actively engaged in a Christian congregation and able to identify with and support the Bushnell Theological Context for Community statement.
- Ability to utilize Windows based software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail for the purposes of instruction and organizational communications are required.
- Listening skills and the ability to speak and write clearly are essential to the position.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated assessment platform skills.
