This position will be located at 233 Main Street, New Britain CT. Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $70,500 per year.Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time-off package to provide a well-rounded and competitive approach to the applicantโ€™s overall compensation.Summary: Provides direct oversight and care of Residential and Community Support clients to ensure appropriate and necessary client medical and psychiatric services. Supervises and directs the Medication Management of all Residential and Community Support Programs while providing consultation and review of all referrals to insure appropriate attention to client needs.Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:โ€ขSupervises the provision of medication monitoring/administration to program staff by writing monthly MAR sheets, training staff and participating in weekly team meetings to review client related medical and medication issues.โ€ขCompletes Nursing Health assessments and medication reconciliation for clients entering the Outpatient Program areas as needed.โ€ขWorks collaboratively with treatment team to provide clients with holistic treatment approach.โ€ขReviews and assesses referrals to Community Support/clinical programs for medical and psychiatric appropriateness by discussing with Clinical Director, Prescriber, and assisting staff with development of treatment plans.โ€ขAssesses physical health of all clients and provides screenings to ensure compliance with regulation and appropriate triage and referral.โ€ขTracks program compliance with all Joint Commission, DPH, DCF, other licensing and regulatory agencies and Q.I. projects that pertain to client medical status.โ€ขProvides medical and psychiatric education to clients and their families by conducting individual, group and family meetings at program sites and in the community as well as providing documentation to the clientโ€™ medical record of all nursing interventions.โ€ขAll other duties as assigned.Education: Registered Nurse diploma from an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent. RN with BSN preferred.Credentials and Licenses: RN Licensure in the State of Connecticut. Valid CT Drivers License.Experience:โ€ข3-5 years experience in behavioral health/substance abuse nursing in relevant clinical setting appropriate to population or equivalent.โ€ขBeginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.โ€ขExperience in or the ability or willingness to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system or the ability and willingness to learn how to use one, which includes appointment scheduling, authorization tracking, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.Competencies: Behavioral Skill Sets:โ€ขAbility to accurately assess client psychiatric and physical condition and triage to appropriate levels of care for the full range of child and/or adult clients.โ€ขKnowledge of psychiatric, substance abuse and medical disorders, their symptoms and best practice courses of treatment.โ€ขKnowledge of age appropriate developmental milestones specific to population served.โ€ขAbility to conduct individual, group and family educational meetings.โ€ขAbility to conduct self professionally ands collaboratively with multi- disciplinary teams.โ€ขAbility to multi-task while setting appropriate priorities.โ€ขAbility to ensure the confidentiality of client information and records in a manner consistent with professional and agency codes of ethics.โ€ขAwareness of scope of nursing practice, professional boundaries, medical testing apparatus and all relevant licensing and accrediting agencies such as DCF, DPH, DMHAS and JCAHO.โ€ขAwareness/sensitivity to all types of issues related to client diversity, including cultural, ethnic, language, gender, sexual orientation, gender preference, physical handicap and spiritual diversity.We care about our employees by offering benefits that strike a harmonious work-life balance.
