Job Description: Food Service -Dishwasher/Utilities

Classification: Staff

Schedule: Ten Month; Monday-Friday; 10:00 am- 2:15 pm; Part -Time

Supervises: No

Reports To: Food Service Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Description

The Food Service Dishwasher is responsible for washing and sorting dishes and keeping the dish area free of clutter and organized.  Responsibilities also include taking out garbage, sweeping, mopping and assisting where needed to ensure a smooth service and efficient clean up.  Enjoy being part of a hard-working Christian team. 

Qualifications

  1. Be a born-again believer, maintaining a testimony that is above reproach
  2. Active in local, evangelical church.
  3. Be in agreement with the Lakeland Christian School Statement of Faith and staff qualifications.
  4. High School diploma or equivalent.
  5. Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures.
  6. Be punctual each day to report to job and be flexible in adjusting to interruptions.
  7. Be able to work in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A.    General responsibilities include:

  • Uphold and ensure compliance of all LCS policies and procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps food as needed.  Keep dish area free of clutter and organized.
  • Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly washes, stacks, and stores trays, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required and properly uses chemical dilutions.  
  • Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trash cans and boxes at the end of each shift.
  • Sweep & Mops the dry storage area, back hallway and bathroom daily.
  • Assist in wiping tables and sweep in the cafeteria
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requests by Food Service Manager as needed.         

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Must possess a positive attitude and work well with others. 

Physical Demands

  1. Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, bend, lift up to 30 lbs.
  2. Significant fine finger dexterity.
  3. Minimal temperature variations.
  4. Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position.
  5. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
