What are some common challenges Clutter Consultants face when working with clients?

Clutter Consultants often encounter clients who feel overwhelmed, emotionally attached to their belongings, or resistant to change. Navigating these emotional barriers requires strong communication skills and empathy, as well as the ability to tailor organizational strategies to each individual's needs. Additionally, consultants must balance practical decluttering solutions with sensitivity to personal preferences, ensuring that the process feels supportive and empowering rather than intrusive. Collaborating closely with clients and sometimes family members is essential for creating sustainable, long-term organizational systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Clutter Consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Clutter Consultant, you need expertise in organizational principles, space planning, and often a background in interior design or professional organizing. Familiarity with digital organizing tools, inventory management apps, and sometimes certifications from organizations like NAPO are common in this field. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to motivate and guide clients through the decluttering process are essential soft skills. These abilities are crucial for creating tailored solutions, building client trust, and achieving lasting results in clutter management.

What are Clutter Consultants?

Clutter Consultants are professionals who help individuals and businesses organize and declutter their spaces. They assess clients’ needs, develop personalized organization strategies, and provide hands-on assistance to reduce clutter and create more functional environments. Clutter Consultants may also offer advice on storage solutions, time management, and maintaining an organized lifestyle. Their goal is to improve productivity and well-being by transforming chaotic areas into orderly, stress-free spaces.

What is the difference between Clutter Consultant vs Professional Organizer?

AspectClutter ConsultantProfessional Organizer

A Professional Organizer offers broader organizational solutions, including space planning and system implementation. The roles overlap but differ mainly in scope and approach.

Printfresh LLC

Philadelphia, PA

Job description

Printfresh is a fast-growing, design-driven sleepwear and apparel brand looking for a highly experienced Asana consultant to restructure and optimize our product development and production workflows.

We currently use Asana to manage Design, Product Development, and Production timelines, but the system has become overly task-heavy, calendar-driven, and difficult to use as a true operational tool. We're looking for an expert to rebuild this into a clear, scalable system that improves visibility, accountability, and execution.

Scope of Work
  • Audit our current Asana setup (Design + PD + Production workflows)
  • Restructure into a clean, stage-based pipeline (Concept Design Development Sampling Finalization)
  • Separate and streamline workflows for Sleep vs Apparel
  • Establish clear ownership and accountability within projects
  • Simplify task structures (reduce clutter, improve usability)
  • Build dashboard views for leadership visibility (status, blockers, timelines)
  • Create templates for repeatable seasonal product cycles
  • Train team on how to use the system effectively (light documentation + walkthrough)
Ideal Candidate
  • Deep experience with Asana (not beginner/intermediate - must be advanced)
  • Strong understanding of product development workflows (fashion, retail, or consumer goods highly preferred)
  • Experience building systems for cross-functional teams (design, PD, production, merchandising)
  • Ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive systems
  • Comfortable pushing back and recommending better ways of working (not just executing instructions)
  • Bonus: Experience with DTC brands or seasonal product cycles
Project Details
  • Freelance / short-term project (estimated 2-4 weeks)
  • Remote, with a few working sessions required- but in-person would be great too
  • Goal: Deliver a fully restructured Asana system + team adoption
  • Budget for this project is flexible based on experience (may be hourly or project-based)

Requirements

Applications Must Include
  • Examples of Asana systems you've built or restructured in the product/fashion space
  • Brief description of your approach to workflow design
  • Relevant experience with product-based businesses (if applicable)

We are looking for someone who can bring clarity, structure, and strong operational thinking - not just reorganize tasks.
