Job description

Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton is seeking an Assistant Director of Fitness responsible for assisting our Director of Wellness with daily operational support and the management of our personal training, group fitness and fitness attendant teams. In addition to a comprehensive fitness area, our busy wellness center includes full spa & salon operations, aquatics department and Café.
Our Assistant Director of Fitness must have the ability to oversee the fitness department's daily operations, propose ideas to generate revenue, effectively supervise all fitness team members. This will include the oversight of fitness programs, services, hours of operation, reception desk and locker room areas. Our selected candidate will have an outgoing personality and will be able to manage and motivate others, as well as have excellent communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills. Our candidate must have bachelor's degree in health sciences, or related, and nationally recognized certification from professional fitness organization(s). Prior experience in the hotel or private club industry is preferred.
Our fitness center offers all state-of-the-art equipment. All of our cardio equipment is complimented with its own personal Cardioversion flat panel television screen with remote control, and our functional training room features a ball wall, resistance bands, medicine balls, cable machines and more. An expansive Group Exercise schedule with more than 60 classes per week, including a dedicated Pilates studio, caters to every fitness level.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have proven track record of successful management oversight and operation of full-service fitness facility.
  • 4 years' work experience in an exclusive fitness facility or luxury spa, or related.
  • Must have BS degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, or related field
  • Must have prior experience managing luxury fitness and/or spa operations
  • Must have the ability to motivate others and have an outgoing personality
  • Must have excellent communication skills, excellent time management, and organization skills
  • Must be flexible, able to work nights, as well as some weekends, and holidays
