La personne au poste aura comme principale mission de coordonner toutes les activités et opérations relatives à l’entretien des terrains et des espaces extérieures au Stade Saputo et au Centre Nutrilait tout en s’assurant de travailler en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe opérationnelle afin d’adhérer aux normes attendues. La personne doit faire preuve de flexibilité car elle sera amenée à travailler les jours, les soirs et les fins de semaine en fonction des matchs à domicile et à l’extérieur.

Principales responsabilités

  • Entretenir les surfaces de jeu du Club, les surfaces d’entraînement, les surfaces synthétiques, l’aménagement paysagé, le stationnement extérieur et l’environnement en bordure de route;
  • Effectuer des travaux quotidiens de préparation et d’entretien de routine des surfaces de jeu et paysage environnant;
  • S’assurer que les systèmes d’irrigation et de drainage sont fonctionnels et en bonne état;
  • Assister le responsable des terrains sportifs dans la coordination des équipes de terrain, en s’assurant qu’ils respectent les normes, les responsabilités et l’horaire établis;
  • S’assurer que le tracé et la configuration de la surface de jeu soient optimal pour s’assurer que les meilleurs résultats possibles soient atteints;
  • Veiller à l’utilisation et l’exploitation sécuritaires de l’équipement et des machines et veiller à leur entretien régulier et à la maintenance préventive;
  • S’assurer que l’environnement de travail soit propre et sécuritaire et effectuer toute mesure corrective nécessaire au maintien d’une environnement sécuritaire;
  • S’assurer que les engrais et les produits chimiques soient utilisés selon les standards et assurer leur conservation;
  • Maintenir des normes élevées de service à la clientèle en tout temps;
  • S’assurer que les terrains et les infrastructures soient correctement hivernisé et assurer un début de saison optimal;
  • Être en mesure d’aider les entrepreneurs et d’autres fournisseurs externes;
  • Préparer et mettre en place des pratiques d’amélioration continue;
  • Contribuer au développement, à la mise en œuvre, à la communication et à l’application de procédures propre au département;
  • Effectuer toutes autres tâches connexes.

Job description

The person in this position will have the primary responsibility of coordinating all activities and operations related to the maintenance of the playing fields and outdoor spaces at Stade Saputo and the Nutrilait Centre, while working closely with the operations team to ensure compliance with expected standards. The person must demonstrate flexibility, as they will be required to workdays, evenings, and weekends depending on home and away matches.

Main responsabilities

  • Maintain the Club’s playing surfaces, training surfaces, synthetic surfaces, landscaping, exterior parking areas, and roadside environment;
  • Perform daily preparation work and routine maintenance of playing surfaces and the surrounding landscape;
  • Ensure irrigation and drainage systems are functional and in good condition;
  • Assist the Head Groundskeeper in coordinating grounds crews, ensuring they follow established standards, responsibilities, and schedules;
  • Ensure the layout and configuration of the playing surface are optimized to achieve the best possible results;
  • Ensure the safe use and operation of equipment and machinery and oversee their regular servicing and preventive maintenance;
  • Ensure the work environment remains clean and safe and take any corrective action required to maintain a safe environment;
  • Ensure fertilizers and chemicals are used according to standards and stored properly;
  • Maintain high standards of customer service at all times;
  • Ensure grounds and infrastructure are properly winterized and that the season starts optimally;
  • Be able to assist contractors and other external suppliers;
  • Prepare and implement continuous improvement practices;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, communication, and enforcement of department-specific procedures;
  • Perform all other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Posséder un minimum de cinq (5) ans d’expérience en maintenance de terrains (expérience avec des terrains sportifs est un atout important);
  • Diplôme d’études collégiales en gestion de surface naturelle, DEP ou domaine connexe;
  • Grande capacité à gérer les priorités, plusieurs projets en même temps, de façon autonome et à travailler sous pression dans des délais serrés;
  • Connaissance de la suite Microsoft 365;
  • Avoir un permis de conduire valide;
  • Être en bonne forme physique, être capable de soulever et de transporter des objets lourds et être capable de rester debout pendant de longues périodes en fonction des activités du Club;
  • Être en mesure de travailler des heures flexibles lorsque le rôle de l’emploi l’exige (toutes les heures de la journée et les week-ends).

Required qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in grounds maintenance (experience with sports fields is a strong asset);
  • College diploma in natural surface management, vocational diploma, or related field;
  • Strong ability to manage priorities, handle several projects at the same time independently, and work under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365;
  • Valid driver’s licence;
  • Be in good physical condition, able to lift and carry heavy objects, and able to remain standing for long periods depending on Club activities;
  • Be able to work flexible hours when the role requires it (all hours of the day and weekends).
