Position: Azure/Cloud Engineer
Location: Bellevue, WA

About the role:
A leading role in Client's adoption of AWS and Azure cloud environments for improved agility, new capabilities and usage based finance model. As a Cloud Engineer in Client DevOps team you will establish effective and fun collaborative relationships with the Development, QA, BI and UX teams to define common visions and approaches to ensure the Client production environments in the cloud are Available, Scalable, Secure and Performing.
Specific objectives include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate in the definition, design and implementation of a continuous deployment pipeline that establish a consistent and formal approach for Client to deploy into Cloud environments with adequate auditing, transparency and role based separation.
  • Own the overall design and implementation of AWS and Azure cloud environments from an ease of use, compliance and security perspective. Compliance and security objectives are related to Role Based Access, Separation of Duties, Auditing and developing Best Practices from a usage perspective.
  • Own and facilitate the right level of monitoring, alerting and insights across Client cloud usage to ensure 99.90% availability and deep developer insights into code optimization. Purpose is to build a toolset that provide almost Real-Time insight into code behavior.
  • Perform financial (capacity) management of both AWS and Azure clouds as part of capacity management.
  • Guide development efforts to adhere to Client PaaS or SaaS policies
  • Assist Micro-Service v-teams sustain Client 99.9% availability goal.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8 years of experience in the field.

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to design, plan and implement objectives with ability to execute on a variety of tasks.
  • Is comfortable providing consultation on complex projects and is a top-level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong technical expertise and developer knowledge of AWS and Azure, Developer experience with C#, C++, JavaScript or similar code language(s), Operational experience, solid communicator and empowered collaborator.
  • Monitoring and Developer Insight via tooling such as New Relic, Splunk, GitHub, TeamCity and cloud specific Monitoring services is desired
