Serves as a Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer and AWS cloud expert for pre-production efforts/activities. Ensures the architecture and design of cloud-hosted IT systems are secure and meet Department requirements; reviews cloud security policy and provides recommendations for improvement to enhance the security posture within the cloud as well as the ability to meet protection, detection, monitoring and response requirements for systems and data; applies knowledge of current advances in cloud security engineering and cloud security threats to support the deployment of programs and applications; provides input to programs throughout the process of deployment to ensure systems meet Department compliance requirements; and provides guidance to assessment staff in the performance of Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments as related to cloud hosting environments. On this task order, works alongside the program's designated cloud lead to manage and stand up the AWS environments and accounts, and applies working knowledge of AWS GovCloud and Department environment requirements.*This position is contingent upon contract award.*Responsibilities:Manage and set up the AWS environments and accounts, working alongside the program's designated cloud lead.Apply AWS GovCloud expertise and Department environment requirements to the design, provisioning, and hardening of all cloud accounts and landing zones.Scale the current prototype environment, or an equivalent AWS environment, into a full pre-production environment supporting development, test, and integration.Engineer the environment to support a relational database, a modern software language (i.e., Java), cloud native capability, Zero Trust (ZT)/ICAM, API integration, a modern UI/UX, and CI/CD implementation.Implement the pre-production architecture necessary to support parallel production.Ensure the architecture and design of cloud-hosted IT systems are secure and meet Department requirements; review cloud security policy and recommend improvements to the cloud security posture.Support protection, detection, monitoring, and response requirements for systems and data hosted in the cloud environment.Provide guidance to assessment staff in the performance of Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments related to the cloud hosting environment.Support achievement of IATT-C and ATO accreditations in the cloud environment and implementation of RMF controls.Support container orchestration, microservices deployment, automated environment provisioning, and infrastructure as code (IaC) in AWS.Contribute cloud architecture content to EA artifacts and design diagrams.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Years of Experience: 5 YearsEducation Level: None. Desired BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or closely related discipline, or equivalent additional relevant experience.Clearance Requirements: Secret. Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission.Certification Requirements: None. AWS Solutions Architect – Associate and/or CISSP desired.Any other work-related qualifications needed for the role:Must be specifically an AWS cloud engineer/expert — general multi-cloud experience alone does not satisfy this requirement.Demonstrated familiarity with AWS GovCloud and Department environment requirements.Extensive knowledge of FedRAMP assessment methodology.Experience working with OCI.Experience working with enterprise DoD IT.Experience standing up and administering cloud accounts, organizations, IAM boundaries, and network segmentation in a regulated Government environment.Extensive experience working on highly complex IT systems.
