Job Overview 

The Cloud Operations Engineer is a customer-facing role responsible for assisting with project and deployment tasks in support of CyberSheath Managed Services clients\' onboarding and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will engage new clients to understand their architecture, implement CyberSheath solutions and technologies in the environment, and address any potential gaps that may arise. 

They will work as part of a project team responsible for the management, support, and migration/implementation projects related to CyberSheath clients\' IT systems. The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of on-premise and cloud-hosted environments across Microsoft (Office 365, Azure)AWS, and Linux platforms, and will apply that knowledge to manage our customers\' computing environments. 

Essential Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): 

  • Microsoft and Azure Operations 

    • Provision and deliver computer systems and services across both on-premise and cloud-hosted solutions. 
    • Regularly perform migrations to Office 365 (email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), server migrations to Azure, and implement various Azure technologies. 
    • Design and deliver secure cloud solutions in Office 365 and Azure. 
    • Configure and support Intune device enrollment, compliance policies, and endpoint management for client environments. 

    Linux Engineering and Support 

    • Administer, patch, and support Linux server environments (RHEL, Rocky/CentOS, Ubuntu) hosted both on-premise and in the cloud. 
    • Troubleshoot Linux system, service, and networking issues, including user and permission management, package management, systemd services, and shell scripting. 
    • Apply Linux hardening and patch management practices in alignment with DIB and CMMC expectations. 

    AWS Operations 

    • Provision, configure, and support AWS workloads, including EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC networking for client environments. 
    • Assist with migrations and ongoing operations across AWS, including AWS GovCloud, where applicable. 
    • Support multi-cloud client environments spanning Azure and AWS, ensuring consistent security and operational standards. 

    Architecture, Tooling, and Delivery 

    • Architecture, design, system evaluation and analysis, and infrastructure assessments. 
    • Deploy and maintain tools and monitoring agents such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, log collection, multifactor authentication, RMM, etc. 
    • Track all activities, detailed case notes, and time entries within the Service Desk Ticketing system. 
    • Drive technical implementation tasks to completion by budgeted deadlines. 

    Collaboration and Communication 

    • Work with internal CyberSheath stakeholders to ensure key tasks and timelines are identified, on time, and on budget. 
    • Provide timely updates and feedback to the internal team and clients regarding project status and activities being on-track. 
    • Proactively communicate with clients to ensure requests are properly addressed. 
    • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot onboarding implementation issues as they arise. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills 

  • Minimum of 7+ years\' experience in System Administration, including experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Azure Administration, Server Management (Active Directory - Group Policy), Deployment and Migrations. 
  • Hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky and/or Ubuntu) including user management, package management, shell scripting, and patching. 
  • Working knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) sufficient to provide baseline operational support. 
  • Intermediate networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, VPN). 
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting. 
  • Knowledge of security tools, such as EDR, SIEM, MFA, DLP, AIP, etc.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex systems and problems. 
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Amazing organization skills to balance and prioritize workloads. 
  • Must be comfortable with leading technical discussions consisting of client and CyberSheath personnel. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States or its Territories. 

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills 

  • Working experience with Government flavors of Office 365, Azure, or AWS (including AWS GovCloud). 
  • Working experience with the ConnectWise suite of products. 
  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Microsoft Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400. 
  • AWS certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (SOA-C02), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03). 
  • Linux certifications: CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). 
  • Networking and security certifications: Network+, Security+, CCSP. 

Work Environment 

  • A virtual work environment 

  • Travel expectations - Approximately 20% 
  • Some on-call, shift, weekend, and evening work
