Job description

Job Summary:
Accenture Federal Services is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the US federal government through technology and innovation. They are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support core infrastructure engineering activities and improve cloud environments while ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute as a member of the AFS IT Cloud Engineering team, handling foundational cloud tasks with guidance and taking on moderately complex work as skills develop.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support cloud resource provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across multi-cloud environments, primarily Azure. Exposure to AWS, GCP, or OCI is beneficial but not required.
• Follow NIST 800‑171 security standards and ensure compliance in day‑to‑day cloud operations.
• Assist in deploying and supporting cloud‑native components, including Availability Zones, storage services, serverless functions, containers, backups, and patching activities.
• Collaborate with experienced team members and cross-functional partners to improve cloud solutions and deliver reliable services.
• Work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively in team settings and seeking guidance when needed.
• Participate in workstreams and provide updates on task progress and deliverables.
• Support both engineering tasks from the Agile board and operational work items from the ticketing queue.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and bring forward ideas that improve team practices and cloud operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• U.S. Citizen located on U.S. soil (mandatory).
• Experience managing cloud platforms (Azure required; AWS/GCP preferred).
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and collaborate effectively.
• Cloud certification (Azure Foundations required).
• Ability to be on-call as needed.
Preferred:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher
