Position Summary:
In this position you'll have a key role in building and maturing the Company's Data Services across all aspects of the organization. This includes recommending and implementing tools for enabling internal business units to leverage data securely, effectively, and efficiently.
You'll develop secure, high-performing data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, participating in all stages of development from analysis, administration to production releases in a cloud environment. This is a highly collaborate role, spanning across IT, Business, and Executive teams from a customer perspective, and from legacy to modernization cloud-based systems.
You will be involved in all aspects of data science, engineering, and analytics as the Company instills and matures these capabilities and data discipline throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources (legacy and modern) into our data warehouse, ensuring scalability and efficiency
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Leaders, Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs while accommodating scalable volumes of data
  • Participate in strategic data and analytics projects to enable our business leaders and analysts to consume data in a curated self-service model that lead to impactful insights for key business areas
  • Integrate and deliver data from multiple sources for internal customers to analyze and make decisions relevant to their functional area or across product, program, customer, and risk axis
  • Develop data engineering focused frameworks to enable agile and quick data insights, while maintaining the quality of the insight, and inform strategy
  • Partner across all operational and support functions to build scalable data-based solutions that provide insights into improving key metrics/OKRs
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our data systems, monitoring performance and optimizing as needed to handle increasing data volumes
  • Experience in cloud-based data infrastructure and administration consuming structured and unstructured data for business insights
  • Implement automated data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy at scale
  • Participate in all aspects of software/data development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit and integration testing, bug fixing, deploy and code/API documentation
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability across multiple environments (development, staging, production)
  • Knowledge of Power BI semantic models optimized to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in a timely manner to minimize business impact
  • Create and maintain design documents and documentation for data pipelines, systems, and processes
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary to support scalability and growth
  • Work closely with various business units and leaders to identify and interpret their data needs, suggesting innovative ways to consume and analyze data
  • Architect and design robust data structures that effectively support identified business requirements
  • Create reusable templates, such as Power BI semantic models, to empower other data services and IT personnel in their reporting efforts
  • All other functions and duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar technical role, with a strong background in data lineage, development, ETL processes, and software development
  • Proven experience working with a focus on data integration and data pipeline development
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes
  • Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages such as Python or Spark, and experience working with relational databases
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools, such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse, and experience optimizing performance for large-scale data processing
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is preferred
  • Experience with data modeling, schema design, and optimization techniques for scalability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize data processing pipelines for scale
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
