We are looking for a Cloud Computing Consultant – Microsoft Azure to add to our team.

Position Title

Cloud Computing Consultant – Microsoft Azure

Location

Tallahassee, FL 32308 — ONSITE (2331 Phillips Road)

 
The consultant will serve as a Cloud Computing Subject Matter Expert, working directly with FDLE leadership and technical staff on cloud strategy, architecture, migration assessments, security, and operations.
 
QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates not meeting these criteria will not be submitted:

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on IT work experience in cloud computing (Azure strongly preferred).
  • Expert-level knowledge implementing Internet / Intranet / Extranet services and supporting services and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with business and IT staff to define requirements and recommend cloud computing solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare professional documentation associated with research, design decisions, estimating assumptions, performance metrics, and security requirements.
  • Visa categories are NOT eligible.
  • Ability to pass criminal record check, drug screen, and credit history check prior to start.
  • No active or pending non-compete agreement that would restrict work for the State of Florida.
  • Willingness and ability to work ONSITE at Tallahassee, FL 32308). Remote work only with prior written authorization.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Microsoft Azure certifications, including any of:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
    • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102)
  • Prior experience with state or federal government (law enforcement, justice, public safety) cloud implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with CJIS-compliant cloud architecture and Azure Government / GCC / GCC-High.
  • Experience with Azure landing zones, Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, RBAC governance, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Experience with cloud cost management / FinOps practices (Azure Cost Management, reservations, savings plans).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Conditional Access, and Intune.
  • Experience leading cloud migration assessments (Azure Migrate, application portfolio rationalization).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Local to Tallahassee or willing to be onsite without relocation assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development of FDLE's cloud strategy and technical roadmaps for cloud service implementations.
  • Plan and deploy subscriptions, roles, resources, and services across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud service platforms.
  • Monitor applications, resources, and services in FDLE's cloud environments, ensuring availability and performance.
  • Identify, address, and remediate cloud security issues and requirements, with sensitivity to CJIS-regulated workloads.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting services for FDLE's cloud infrastructure.
  • Evaluate FDLE's existing computing environments and workloads as candidates for cloud migration; document gaps, risks, and migration approaches.
  • Conduct research, lead technical discussions on cloud computing, and collaborate with FDLE business and IT staff.
  • Serve as a Cloud Computing Subject Matter Expert; educate and mentor FDLE staff on Azure and M365 technologies.
  • Perform analysis of and make recommendations regarding tools to implement and manage cloud services.
  • Prepare professional documentation including research findings, design decisions, estimating assumptions, performance metrics, and security requirements.
