Job Summary

The Cloud / Azure Architect role requires deep expertise and a track record of client success in delivering infrastructure solutions on the Azure platform. Candidate will have a demonstrated ability to engage technology decision makers in Cloud Migration and Adoption roadmaps, cloud-native solutions architecture, and best practices on the cloud platform.  

Essential Functions

* Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for the Azure platform.
* Mentor Engineering and Development team members and champion cloud best practices and Infrastructure as Codeadoption.
* Collaborate daily with business partners, development and quality engineers, technology and operations leadership, and peer architects in other areas to ensure clear lines of communication, common architectural and capability assumptions, and appropriate urgency for critical path undertakings.
* Define and execute cloud project technical milestones and CAPEX/OPEX cost models.
* Partner with Information Security to ensure the use of best-in-class cloud security solutions.
* Design and execute on a cloud governance strategy.
* Continuously improve cloud infrastructure services and drive operational excellence.
* Develop cloud architectural principles, standards and best practices to be used by other technology and development teams.
 

Education and Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc., or equivalent experience.
* 10+ years’ professional experience working as a senior/lead engineer with at least 7+ years’ as an Azure Engineer or Architect.
* 5 years of experience architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based and/or cloud-native solutions.
* A verifiable experience in designing strategic roadmaps for cloud solutions, migrations, greenfield applications, and cloud native deployments for medium to large enterprises.
* Strong experience building multi-tenancy solutions including: application development and migration of “On-Premise” applications to the Cloud.
* Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Network principles, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.
* Hands-on experience configuring supporting common infrastructure roles and tools (e.g.: DNS,NTP, Group Policy, Active Directory/ADFS, Web Application Firewalls, logging services, web proxies, etc.
* Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code concepts and related automation experience using tools like Chef, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
* Regulatory compliance experience (PCI, SOx, ISO, HIPAA, PII, etc.)
* Professional experience in lending or financial services, e-commerce, and supporting development teams in a .NET environment a plus.
* Serverless Computing experience a plus.
