Job description

Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions under the Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) Outreach and Digital Enterprise Services (MODES) contract. You will ensure our cloud architecture meets the rigorous demands of federal operations and compliance standards, enhancing the DoD's ability to inform and support the global military community.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design of scalable and secure cloud infrastructures tailored to specific MC&FP needs.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of cloud environments, from deployment to maintenance and scaling.
  • Ensure alignment of cloud strategies with overall IT security and operational policies.
  • Monitor cloud environments to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Assist the Cloud Architect and Infrastructure Lead as the expert consultant on all cloud-related initiatives within the agency.
  • Cloud Strategy Development: Creating comprehensive cloud strategies that include public, private, and hybrid cloud models.
  • System Design and Architecture: Designing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure that meets government security standards.
  • Service Management: Overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and scaling of cloud services.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensuring all cloud systems adhere to government cybersecurity frameworks and compliance mandates.
  • Cost Management: Analyzing and optimizing cloud spending to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud service providers, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, application programming interface (API), application development, and methodologies.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity and compliance standards relevant to government IT.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in developing, implementing, and managing cloud environments, particularly in a government or secure IT setting.
  • Candidates must meet applicable DoD 8140 / DoDM 8140.03 cyberspace workforce qualification requirements for the assigned work role, proficiency level, and position requirements.
  • DoD Secret Security Clearance.
