Job description

Non-Invasive Cardiologist - Beautiful Lake Tahoe/Reno

Renown Health, northern Nevada’s largest health system and the only not-for-profit, integrated health network in the Reno area, is seeking an experienced Electrophysiologist to join our dynamic, physician-led multispecialty medical group.  The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of post-training experience and preferably prior directorship/leadership experience. Based in Reno, NV, Renown Health serves a population of over 1 million patients across the northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeast California region and is the only Level II trauma and ECMO capable center between Salt Lake City and Sacramento.  The Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health (RIHVH) is the premier cardiology practice in northern Nevada and the only program in the region that provides access to a full suite of advanced valvular procedures, complex coronary artery interventions, and mechanical/extracorporeal circulatory support.  Affiliated with the University of Nevada Reno School Medicine, RIHVH also offers opportunities for medical student/resident teaching, participation in cutting-edge clinical trials, and other scholarly activities.

At RIHVH, you can expect a highly supportive and stable leadership team that is committed to maintaining patient-centered care while providing a sustainable work/life balance.  Located just 25 minutes from the closest ski area and 35 minutes from the shores of majestic Lake Tahoe, Reno offers a mild 4-season climate with over 300 days of sunshine.  Access to endless outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and fishing is just steps away from a bustling and walkable midtown/downtown district.  As a growing tech center, the “Biggest Litte City,” has the culinary diversity and nightlife of a larger city without the traffic or the taxes.  An expanding international airport provides easy access to most major cities and spectacular destinations like Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park, and the Black Rock Desert are less than a 3-hour drive away.

Position Details:

  • Full-time employed position with the Renown Institute for Heart & Vascular Health with an opportunity for a joint faculty appointment at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine
  • The fully-integrated Cardiovascular Service Line encompasses nineteen (19) total physicians, including five (5) Interventionalists/Structuralists, two (3) Electrophysiologists, and thirteen (13) Advanced Practice Providers
  • Approximately Q1:13 call schedule plus additional post-call days off.
  • Generous and flexible time-off with a minimum of 9-weeks of total leave
  • Competitive guaranteed 1-year salary with flexibility to move to a Base + Production schedule as early as 6 months
  • Ability on production schedule to earn 75th-95th percentile of national benchmarks with NO STATE INCOME TAX
  • $50,000 starting bonus inclusive of relocation assistance
  • 401k with tiered match increasing with years of service
  • $5,000 CME Allowance in addition to coverage of all board certifications and licensure
  • Full health benefits, employer-paid short-term disability, paid malpractice with 100% tail coverage
