Job Summary:
The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neuro-oncologist interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our expanding neuro-oncology program at UW Hospital and Clinics and affiliated locations. This position would be active in multi-disciplinary teams including neurology, medical oncology, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, neuropsychology, neuropathology, and palliative medicine.
- This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
- Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
- This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with JR#10004651 and JR#10004655; please note that two vacancies exist between these three postings. Having multiple job postings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates on the Tenure, CHS, and CT tracks.
- This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.
- This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, which may include general neurology continuity clinics, and inpatient attending UW Health Hospitals and Clinicals and/or affiliated locations, while proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participation.
- If candidates chose to pursue research, efforts could include independent research or collaboration with other established researchers; including not limited to bench science, clinical trials, community-based programs, community health intervention studies, etc.
- In the Clinician Teacher (CT) Track, faculty provide patient care as their primary responsibility (90%); clinical teaching is expected. The remaining 10% of time is dedicated to research, teaching and/or service, depending on the candidate's interest.
- Teaching efforts would include participation or development of a unique or exceptional teaching program in a clinical or classroom setting, including but not limited to lectures, seminars, one-on-one clinical setting, program or course director, etc. Additional teaching responsibilities would include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of the candidate's clinical practice.

The Department of Neurology has over 65 faculty and 25 advanced practice providers located at 20 S. Park/Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and UW Health Clinics. Required Qualifications:
- Must have completed a neurology residency program.
- Neuro-oncology fellowship training or equivalent experience required.
- Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
- Must have a WI medical license by the start date.
- Clinical and research interest in primary and metastatic CNS tumors required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- For an appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.
Education:
MD or DO or equivalent is required by the start date.
