Job description

Job Title: Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Description

This part-time Clinical Research Coordinator role in Reno, NV offers the opportunity to support a clinical trial focused on C. difficile (c. diff). You will play a key role in patient recruitment and enrollment, working closely with participants and research staff to ensure accurate pre-screening, informed participation, and strong retention throughout the study. The position is ideal for a coordinator with hands-on clinical research experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed chart reviews to assess potential participants against study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Pre-screen potential participants using electronic medical records and other available data sources to determine eligibility.
  • Educate potential participants about the clinical trial, including study purpose, procedures, expectations, and visit schedules, in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with enrolled participants to support retention and ensure adherence to study protocols.
  • Schedule in-person visits and follow-up appointments for participants, coordinating with clinical and research staff as needed.
  • Send appointment reminders and relevant study information to participants to support attendance and protocol compliance.
  • Collaborate with the research team to support overall enrollment efforts and help meet recruitment targets for the c. diff trial.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of recruitment activities, pre-screening outcomes, and participant communications in the electronic medical record and study systems.
  • Apply Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and HIPAA training in all aspects of participant interaction, data handling, and documentation.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
  • At least 2 years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical research studies.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Hands-on experience conducting chart reviews to evaluate patient eligibility for clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated ability to pre-screen patients effectively for study participation.
  • Training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
  • Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for clinical research.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple participants, visits, and follow-up activities.
  • Clear and confident communication skills when interacting with patients and research staff.
  • High attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, and protocol adherence.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
