Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting communities in all states in which Franciscan Ministries and Franciscan Advisory Services operates. This independent position is responsible for all aspects of clinical services at the regional level. This will include monitoring clinical processes, training, auditing, and supporting community Nursing Management in ensuring the delivery of quality care. This position focuses on the quality standards and organizational objectives in partnership with each assigned community.   Travel for the position is approximately 75% of the time, with the remainder being remote.

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Assist the community leadership in achieving and maintaining key indicator benchmarks, and quality measures above the state and national average to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.
  • Onboard and train new clinical leadership hires at the communities.
  • Audit, train and ensure adoption of the electronic health record platform.
  • Conduct targeted review, mock survey and survey preparedness at each community to ensure the community is in compliance and well-prepared for annual survey.
  • Assure clinical leadership is knowledgeable of new regulations and standards as implemented by regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with and be a resource to each community in survey preparation following standard of practice/CMS guidelines as well as Franciscan Ministries/Franciscan Advisory Services policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Plans of Correction as needed and monitor new QA processes developed in the event of a citation.
  • Utilize competency tools for ensuring clinical staff practice meets accepted professional standards while collaborating with community Clinical Leaders to identify needs.
  • Remain up to date on current professional standards of practice, laws and regulations which may impact the communities.
  • Provide oversight of the planning and organization of Quality Improvement activities at the communities. Identify and assist in development and revision of policies and procedures, and forms, as needed.
  • Monitor for Risk Management and Compliance issues within the communities and report issues to the community’s leadership and the VP Clinical Services.
  • Serve as a resource and expert in the area of infection control practices and surveillance while analyzing data to prevent infections from occurring or spreading, including direct observations and needed corrections while in the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: A Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited college or university

Licenses/Certifications: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in practicing state

Experience: 5+ years of clinical leadership experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines concurrently.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in electronic health care records; Point Click Care preferred
  • Proficient in federal and state regulatory requirements
