This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Core Responsibilities

Research Partnership Development

  • Evaluate incoming research proposals and work with the Clinical Research Committee to select and prioritize studies.
  • Recruit and maintain a pipeline of high-quality research collaborators across key clinical specialties.

IIT Program Management

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the Investigator Initiated Trials program from proposal intake to study completion.
  • Coordinate research agreements, NDAs, and budgets with Legal and Finance.
  • Track study progress, manage timelines, and maintain regular check-ins with collaborators to ensure studies stay on track.

Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and complete records across all active and completed studies.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with GCP, IRB, and Ethics Committee requirements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for clinical research operations and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the internal point of contact for clinical research, translating study findings into insights for R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
  • Partner with leadership to align the research portfolio with business and product development goals.
Qualifications

Required:

  • BS degree in a scientific or technical field; advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in clinical research, clinical affairs, or a related field within medical devices or healthcare.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple concurrent studies and research partnerships.
  • Knowledge of GCP, IRB requirements, and research contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — this person must be able to build trust with smart, busy clinicians.

Preferred:

  • Established network of clinical researchers or KOLs.
  • Familiarity with ultrasound or POCUS.
  • Experience with AI/ML or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
