This leader ensures alignment of project deliverables with safety, quality, and delivery standards; manages budgets; directs a high‑performing team; and partners across the organization to ensure a seamless experience for patients, families, and associates.

You will directly influence the success of our multi‑year growth strategy and ensure that every project supports the next chapter of Nemours Children’s excellence.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

  • Build strong relationships with hospital leadership, architects, engineers, contractors, and clinical partners.
Project and Operational Management
  • Oversee all construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, on budget, and to specification.
  • Participate in Delaware Valley master planning, design facilitation, and vendor selection.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities, including huddles with contractors, end users, and hospital teams to minimize disruptions to patient care.
  • Interpret and review construction documentation, drawings, and specifications; enforce compliance with healthcare codes and standards (NFPA 99, FGI, NFPA 101).
  • Maintain ICRA standards and collaborate closely with Safety and Infection Control.
  • Evaluate design documents for material standards, cost savings, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates; present to senior leadership as needed.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance construction processes, team performance, and institutional goals.
  • Participate in hiring, staffing, coaching, and performance evaluations aligned with Nemours Children’s commitment to cultivating a healthy, thriving workforce.
  • Engage in department and institutional committees, projects, and educational initiatives to stay current with trends in healthcare construction.
A Role Central to Our Delaware Expansion

The Director of Construction Management will be deeply involved in Nemours Children’s Health’s largest one‑year capital investment in Delaware. This includes:

New labor and delivery suites, antepartum/postpartum rooms, and operating rooms that expand our Advanced Delivery Program for high‑risk mothers and newborns.
  • Expansion of cancer, neonatology, and cardiology programs
The Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute will feature state‑of‑the‑art, family‑centered design and expanded research and treatment capacity.
  • Revitalization of the historic Alfred I. duPont Institute
Preserving a treasured legacy while transforming it into a modern administrative hub.

Your leadership will ensure these projects support our mission—and that our facilities reflect the exceptional care our teams deliver.
