Job description

What will you do in this role:

  • - Partner with our licensed nurses to provide the highest quality of care and service to our residents.
  • - Provide essential nursing care that involves assistance with resident's daily living needs while supporting their emotional wellbeing
  • - Under the supervision of the Director, develops a written recreation plan of care for each resident
  • - Adhere to and reinforce proper infection control measures
  • - Partner with Life Enrichment to provide companionship, stimulation and engagement to each resident
  • - Assist with light housekeeping tasks
  • - Perform departmental organizational tasks such as documentation in PCC & Life Loop, organization of medical supplies, carts and medical storage areas

You have:
  • - A talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members
  • - The ability to provide a high level of compassion and care for our elderly residents
  • - The ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and adhere to all HIPPA regulations
  • - The ability to read, write and communicate in English

You might also have:
  • - Experience as a care partner for the elderly and memory impaired
  • - Customer service experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • - The ability to walk the duration of your shift
  • - Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • - The ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs. of resistance
  • - Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • - May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens
  • - Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander

Health & Wellness Protocols: Until further notice, interviews will take place virtually. Newly-hired associates will complete Balfour Senior Living's New Hire Orientation virtually, then receive important training about how to keep our residents, and themselves, as healthy as possible. This includes things like hand washing and social distancing. You will also follow wellness protocols developed under guidance of health agencies before entering any of our buildings. If you have any questions regarding the current protocols, please include them in your cover letter or discuss with the Balfour representative who contacts you.
