Director of Nursing (DON)

Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH) | Sparks/Reno, NV

The Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH), operated by Health Dimensions Group under contract with the Nevada Department of Veterans Services, is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations at our modern skilled nursing and long-term care community in Sparks, NV.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Nursing will oversee all nursing and clinical services within the facility, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and strong staff leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct all nursing and clinical services within the facility

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Lead staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and staff development initiatives

  • Monitor clinical outcomes and drive quality improvement initiatives

  • Lead QAPI programs, audits, plans of correction, and survey readiness efforts

  • Partner with leadership, physicians, pharmacy consultants, and regulatory agencies

  • Foster a culture centered on dignity, teamwork, safety, and resident-centered care

  • Support infection control and clinical best practices across the organization

Qualifications
  • Active RN license in good standing (Nevada license or ability to obtain required)

  • Minimum 1-2 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing, post-acute, or long-term care settings

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal survey processes and long-term care regulations

  • Experience leading teams, managing staffing, and driving clinical compliance

  • CPR certification required

  • Experience with PointClickCare preferred

  • Ability to participate in leadership on-call rotation, including evenings/weekends as needed

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $104,000 - $151,800 annually DOE

  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

  • Annual Bonus Eligibility
