West Virginia University Department of Emergency Medicine/System Medical Group seeks an Emergency Medicine Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the Emergency Medicine practices for the EmergencyDepartment at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV.

Practice medicine for the right reasons, with the right people.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Emergency Medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate may also be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. The Clinical Medical Director will also be primary contact for all physicians and advance practice professionals working in the emergency departments at The Clinical Medical Director will be responsible for operational, fiscal, staffing, and personnel issues for Jackson General Hospital. The Clinical Medical Director will repot directly to the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine/Medical Director of Emergency Medicine, WVUHS and Hospital Administration.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must ABMS board certified in Emergency Medicine (or Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with 5+ years' experience.) Demonstrated interest, knowledge and ability in the leadership, financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of emergency medicine. Meets and maintains State Licensure and credentialing requirements for the hospitals. Demonstrates ability to speak effectively on administrative and clinical matters related to emergency medicine. Possess the ability to appropriately focuses on the audience, whether administrators, medical staff members, EMS providers, or the lay public.

Location: Ripley, WV is a small, progressive city, located in the beautiful Appalachian foothills of the Ohio River, Ripley enjoys the linkage to the junction of the two major road systems, Interstate 77 N/S and US Route 33 E/W.
