Job description


Job Summary
Obtains accurate demographic, financial and clinical information and enters into the computer system to create the medical and financial record. Applies financial guidelines to determine/collect patient liability. Performs physician requested labwork and EKGs, industry pre-employment drug screens. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately follows physician's orders when ordering diagnostic tests, such as lab work and EKGs, and performs those test which are part of the multi-skilled position.
  • Registers patients accurately, efficiently and professionally to ensure data base integrity and facilitate claims processing.
  • Participates in providing safe, cost effective patient care in a timely manner to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Applies financial screening guidelines to ensure proper procedures are followed in obtaining upfront collections for the specific facility.
  • Strives to expedite patient flow through prompt and courteous service.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities (PI) by identifying areas of opportunity to ensure quality is consistent with established guidelines.
  • Provides a safe, functional, and effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals in the hospital, thus promoting quality patient care and achieving good outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, to include health screening.
  • Completes assigned goals.

  • Admission and insurance experience. Phlebotomy certification or one year of phlebotomy experience.
