Job Summary
The University of Michigan Kellogg Clinical Research Center (KCRC) and Principal Investigator, Dr. Lindsey De Lott, are seeking a motivated and organized individual for an enriching work experience at Kellogg Eye Center supporting investigator-initiated studies.
This position will support research activities focused on the mechanisms and treatment of individuals with eye pain and other neuro-ophthalmic conditions. The CRC will work with principal investigator, clinic staff, and other research team members to accurately and efficiently carry out a range of tasks associated with a variety of neuro-ophthalmology specific research studies, including ophthalmic testing of enrolled subjects. The characteristic duties and responsibil??ies of this position may evolve over time to match changing needs and priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to gain expertise in all aspects of each project and a willingness to learn skills to extend to new projects as they come. This would be an excellent project on which to gain experience and build a career; the department?s research compliance specialist will provide oversight and support for this role while increasing independence is gained, with oversight shared by the study Principal Investigator, Dr. De Lott.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform tasks and make decisions independently, consistently, and accurately, and demonstrate that they have achieved a moderate level of expertise in all their skills and abilities resulting in high quality work. They will be able to navigate available resources appropriately, effectively use all tools and job aids at their disposal and operate a-clinical technologies with a high degree of proficiency. They alsc know where and how to identify appropriate rescurces and support and are able to discern when to escalate issues needing additional intervention. Responsibilities*

• Screen, recruit, informed consent, and enrollment of participants according to protocol for research studies.
• Directly interact with subjects in a clinic setting including subject interviews, administering survey instruments, etc.
• Accurately performing a basic eye examination, including refraction.
• Schedule and coordinate participants study visits.
• Triages simple subject issues appropriately.
• Collect and record participants study-related data.
• Collect, process, label, store, and ship bio-specimens for clinical studies.
• Comfortable with clinical lab equipment and ehealth equipment.
• Ensure all study related documentation is completed accurately with quality and in a timely fashion per study requirements.
• Complete data entry into both electronic and paper case report forms.
• Perform medical chart reviews.
• Assist with and complete Institutional Review Board applications, amendments, etc.
• Work collaboratively with team members.
• May complete simple study reimbursement with partners such as the Human Subjects Incentive Program (HSIP)

Required Qualifications*
For a Clinical Research Technician level position:

• Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• ONE of the following:
• Minimum 1 years of direcUy related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. Please review SoCRA's Definition of a Clinical Research Professional qualifying experience prior to applying.
• An advanced degree in a health-related areas such as: Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Clinical Research Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Epidemiology, Foreign MD.
• Minimum 3 years of human subject experience (clinical, lab or health regulations) such as related patient care, related community health and wellness, related clinical information, and research.

For a Clinical Research Assistant level position:
High school diploma or GED is necessary, with an Associate Degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience preferred.
Directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is preferred but not necessary.
All levels will reguire:

Experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point)

• Bachelor's Degree; Health Science field preferred or related certification
• Experience with federally sponsored, industry-sponsored and/or investigator-initiated research studies, including direct interaction with patients in a patient care setting or outpatient clinic
• Experience using e-Research Regulatory Management system, and MiChart, or comparable platforms
• Experience with Electronic Data Entry/Capture (EDC)
• Experience using REDCap or similar data management systems
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Experience in a large, complex, healthcare setting
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures

Clinical Research Coordinator - Assistant:

• Bachelor's Degree, associate degree, some college; Health Science field preferred or related certification
• Experience with federally sponsored, industry-sponsored and/or investigator-initiated research studies, including direct interaction with patients in a patient care setting or outpatient clinic
