Job Opportunity: Academic OB/GYN
Our organization is currently looking for an Academic OB/GYN to join the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. The academic rank and salary will be aligned with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The selected individual will be responsible for:
- Teaching and supervising resident physicians and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Providing care in specialized areas such as vulvar vaginal diseases, pediatric adolescent gynecology, or pelvic pain, if applicable.
- Engaging in career development opportunities within specialized clinic services and clinical research in obstetrics and gynecology.
This position will be located at our Medical Center on the university campus, where the responsibilities will include:
- Staffing the obstetric unit and overseeing the benign gynecology team.
- Managing the resident continuity clinic and delivering outpatient care.
- Participating in in-house and backup call duties during nights and weekends.
- Rounding on antepartum and postpartum patients, as well as gynecologic patients.
- Providing consultations for obstetric and gynecologic cases in inpatient and emergency departments.
- Collaborating with family practice obstetric providers and advanced practice providers.
- Contributing to obstetric and gynecologic quality and safety initiatives and committees, along with clinical informatics.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, candidates must have:
- A medical degree (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- ABOG board eligibility or certification.
- Licensure eligibility by the Iowa Board of Medicine, with the requirement to obtain licensure prior to starting employment.
