CareDx, Inc., based in Brisbane, California, is a molecular diagnostics company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of high value, non-invasive tests to enhance the care and long-term outcomes of transplant recipients. The company has commercialized AlloMap Gene Expression Profile Testing, which aids physicians in surveillance of heart transplant recipients. New data was recently presented at ISHLT 2014 that further supports the clinical utility of AlloMap. CareDx, Inc. also develops new tests for other solid organ transplantation, which are in development.
Job Description
General Description
Responsible for managing the staff for local area network, servers, workstations desktop/laptops, telecommunications and mission critical systems. Assist R&D Bioinformatics and Informatics in development of NGS data processing workflow. The IT Manager will assist the Senior Director of Clinical Informatics in managing key IT projects and procedural compliance. Role must be available to immediately respond to system problems and provide local and remote user support.
IT Responsibilities:
โ€ข Review and engineer company-wide on-premise, digital and cloud infrastructure
โ€ข Manage information system personal health data security and privacy
โ€ข Develop/update IT strategies, projects, timelines, budgets and disaster recovery plans
Data Engineer Responsibilities:
โ€ข Development and support of information processing systems and data analysis pipelines
โ€ข Work on the collection, storing, processing of large data sets
โ€ข Oversee the selection, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the data flow tools
โ€ข Debugging and problem analysis of production issues, as well as developing appropriate solutions
โ€ข Work as part of a cross-functional team to develop specifications and use cases for new application releases
โ€ข Produce well-written, well-documented, and well-behaved software components
Responsibilities of on-premise contracted staff overseen by IT Manager include but not necessarily limited to:
โ€ข Administer and maintain network components, servers and workstations including system upgrades and security updates
โ€ข Responsible for setting up new user accounts, email accounts and perform employee termination procedures
โ€ข Manage support of desktop, laptop, telecommunications and wireless systems for local and remote employees
โ€ข Diagnose and troubleshoot to correct any operational issues
โ€ข Administer/track problems and document problem solution using the Help Desk system
โ€ข Support corporate network including Active Directory, WINS, DNS DHCP, and email systems
โ€ข Corporate backups system including schedules, backups and restores
โ€ข Data archival services, including schedules and retention periods
โ€ข Monitoring network performance, outages, event logs and alerts
โ€ข Monitoring of firewall logs, intrusion detecting system logs and security alerts
โ€ข Corporate Antivirus systems, including schedules, updates and monitoring logs
โ€ข Manage corporate telephone system including system maintenance, adds, moves and changes
โ€ข Administer corporate hand held wireless email solutions
Work Environment:
Travel is not a primary aspect of this position although travel may be requested from time to time. An employee in this position may work in an environment, or visits facilities, in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent experience
โ€ข Requisite experience with Windows System Administration to manage external Microsoft Certified System Engineering support
โ€ข Information Technology/Systems Management experience
โ€ข Exchange Server, Active Directory, DHCP, WINS, VPN and DNS expertise
โ€ข Experience working in UNIX/Linux & Windows environments with administration skills
โ€ข Experience with network management (e.g. switches, routers and firewalls)
โ€ข Expertise in one or more Backup Solutions
โ€ข Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
โ€ข Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration is a plus
โ€ข IIS and Apache Web Servers is a plus
โ€ข Experience working with next generation sequencing (NGS) data and pipeline is preferred.
โ€ข Certification in network security and administration such MSCE is highly desirable
โ€ข Experience in biotechnology or genomics environments is preferred
โ€ข Experience with regulated environments, i.e. SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, FDA, highly desirable
