This leadership position is ideal for a Registered Nurse who enjoys combining clinical expertise with education, technology, and process improvement. The successful candidate will serve as a key resource for our communities, helping teams navigate documentation standards, coding accuracy, and electronic health record optimization.

Position Summary

The Director of Clinical Informatics provides strategic oversight and operational support related to clinical documentation, diagnosis coding, regulatory compliance, and electronic health record utilization. This role works closely with clinical, operational, financial, and billing leaders to ensure systems and processes accurately reflect resident care while supporting organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and promote accurate ICD-10 diagnosis coding throughout the organization.
  • Act as the primary clinical resource for electronic health record systems and related documentation processes.
  • Evaluate documentation practices, coding procedures, and EHR utilization to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct audits to support compliance, coding accuracy, and quality outcomes.
  • Deliver education, training, and individualized coaching for clinical leaders and care teams.
  • Collaborate with reimbursement, billing, and operations partners to address documentation and coding concerns.
  • Provide guidance regarding regulatory requirements, software enhancements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead initiatives focused on workflow improvement, standardization, and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster collaborative relationships that promote communication, accountability, and clinical excellence across all communities.
QualificationsRequired
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10 coding principles and clinical documentation standards.
  • Experience working with electronic health record platforms in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to analyze clinical workflows and implement practical system-based solutions.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
