POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide strategic leadership as a key member of the College's Administrative Leadership Team, overseeing all aspects of clinical and health promotion programs in partnership with the Dean.
To advance the College's mission in the area of health sciences education and community impact, the Associate Dean will champion excellence in existing clinical and health promotion programs, while helping to lead strategic planning to expand, innovate and enhance the College's initiatives in the area of clinical services and health promotion.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Program Leadership and Excellence
• Provide strategic leadership for the College's clinical programs, championing innovation in service delivery, assuring optimal quality and compliance with accreditation, licensing, legal requirements and standard of care.
• Work closely with the clinic directors and providers to assure optimal experiences for patients/clients as well as learners.
• Work closely with the College's Finance and Administration team, as well as clinic leaders, to improve financial and administrative processes including facilities, billing, scheduling, and medical records systems.
• Provide strategic leadership to design and implement clinical programs to better meet community needs and provide new training opportunities for our students.
Health Promotion Programs Leadership and Excellence
• Provide strategic leadership for the College's health promotion programs, championing innovation in program delivery and assuring optimal community impact.
• Partner with the Dean and other state entities to develop a more comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to the College's health promotion activities.
Clinical Education Program Innovation and Expansion
• Provide strategic leadership for the College to explore and implement expansion of our offering of clinical education programs, including assessing community needs, student interest program feasibility, program accreditation, etc.
Expand and Enhance External Partnerships
• Provide strategic leadership to expand and enhance community partnerships for clinical and health promotion programs, leveraging interdisciplinary expertise throughout the college, to allow the college to have greater community impact.
• Partner with the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty affairs, the college's clinical educational programs, as well as existing and potential community clinical partners to expand clinical placement opportunities and to assure quality experiences for the students as well as the practice sites.
Scholarly Engagement
• Maintain an active scholarly agenda and teaching presence that models academic excellence, keeps the Associate Dean connected to the faculty experience, and contributes to the intellectual vitality of the College.
Governance & Advisory Leadership
• Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Dean on all clinical and health promotion initiatives, bringing data-informed insights, creative problem-solving, and innovation.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform other duties as required and assigned.
LICENSES, TOOLS and EQUIPMENT:
• Personal computers and printers, electronic mail, word processing, database management, spreadsheet software, research statistical and data analysis software as needed.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
1. Doctoral degree in a clinical field (MD, DPT, DNP, etc.) or a terminal clinical masters degree (PA, NP, etc.) with a doctoral degree relevant to the work of the College of Health Sciences.
2. Active license and certifications appropriate for the clinical field.
3. Strong record of excellence in clinical service delivery.
4. Strong record of leadership in clinical programs.
5. Demonstrated achievement of teaching, practice scholarship, and service commensurate with appointment at the rank of Clinical Professor or Associate Professor.
6. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
9. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively.
10. Demonstrated commitment to student and faculty success.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED:
1. Experience with designing, implementing and assessing health promotion programs.
2. Experience with leadership for accreditation and licensing processes for health services programs.
3. Experience with leadership for billing, scheduling and medical records system processes for health services programs.
