Job description

About Novellia
Novellia is the first and only company that lets anyone in the US gain access to decades of their health data in under 30 seconds, 100% free. All your health records, across doctors, all in one place, always up to date.
We work with the world's top researchers to safely turn health insights into life-changing action for millions of people across the world.
Novellia is the only patient-powered real world data platform delivering comprehensive, patient-authorized longitudinal health insights to accelerate biopharma innovation. Unlike traditional RWD providers who provide fragmented institutional data, we empower patients to access 15+ years of their health records for free, then transform these complete health journeys into fit-for-purpose datasets for evidence generation, regulatory submissions, and market access. We're growing 5x YoY with top pharma partners, our data have been published with leading scientific organizations such as ASCO and SABCS/AACR, and are backed by tier-1 investors including Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, Bling Capital, and more.
About the Role
We are looking for a Clinical Data Manager to accelerate Novellia's data curation and delivery processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with a team of cross-functional experts to execute on and further develop our end-to-end data extraction processes, including investigating feasibility of abstracting variables from unstructured EHR documents, developing data curation instructions, developing and overseeing QA/QC processes, and supporting the potential integration of payor data into Novellia's EHR datasets.
We're a growing team tackling complex problems in healthcare data. We move quickly, prioritize impact, and take pride in doing things right. The truth is: this is a demanding job. It requires focus, urgency, and deep client accountability. If you're looking for a predictable environment with clear boundaries, this isn't the right fit.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and able to work efficiently and creatively to solve problems while maintaining a commitment to quality and client-first thinking. If you are inspired by solving interesting problems, building something from scratch, and working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders to build best-in-class real-world evidence solutions, you'll find the challenge deeply rewarding.
How you'll spend your time at Novellia
  • Develop data curation instructions for a range of disease areas, including rare disease, oncology, cardiovascular disease, and more
  • Help to develop and refine LLM-enabled curation methods
  • Investigate feasibility of capturing specific data elements from unstructured EHR documents
  • Support data quality and control activities, including correcting and investigating errors and developing standard operating procedures for Novellia's QA/QC processes
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team including technical (e.g., software engineering, data science), client solutions, and research scientists to ensure data curation process meets customer needs and to provide analytic guidance for working with Novellia's real-world data
  • Provide expertise to support the processing and harmonization of structured data points
  • Collaborate with clinical experts to ensure all data curation and QA/QC are aligned with clinical expectations
  • Join customer-facing calls as needed to provide overviews of Novellia's data curation approaches
Requirements
  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in the fields of health sciences, biology, public health, or a related applied science, or you have education as a nurse
  • You have experience with clinical data and are excited about becoming an expert in a range of therapeutic areas, including rare disease, oncology, cardiovascular disease, etc.
  • You have familiarity with electronic health record systems, electronic data capture forms, or other data management systems
  • You have strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clinical issues effectively with a diverse team of data engineers, data scientists, client solutions managers, and other stakeholders with a range of clinical knowledge
  • You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail but you are also pragmatic in the search for solutions
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced, cross functional and international environment and are able to react with flexibility to ambiguity
  • You have a strong interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and experience in applying them to data processing
  • Nice to have: comfort using SQL to investigate data
Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive equity package
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Flexible time off
  • Wellness stipend
  • Up to 12 weeks of parental leave

Don't meet every requirement? Studies show women and people of color are less likely to apply unless they meet 100% of qualifications. At Novellia, we're committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
U.S. Applicants Only.
