What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Clinic Based Rbt position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Clinic Based RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), you need a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, completion of the RBT certification, and experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Familiarity with data collection software, electronic health records, and behavior intervention protocols is typically required. Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help RBTs build positive therapeutic relationships and support clinical goals. These competencies are essential for effectively implementing treatment plans and ensuring the best outcomes for clients in a clinical environment.

What is a Clinic Based RBT job?

A Clinic-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works in a clinical setting, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals, often children, with autism or other developmental disabilities. About the Role
Trumpet Behavioral Health, a member of the BlueSprig family of companies, is hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to lead clinical care for clients receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. You'll design and oversee individualized treatment plans, supervise behavior technicians, and partner with families - all in a workplace that puts clinicians first and treats your professional judgment as the standard.
What You'll Do
  • Design and oversee individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs - never cookie-cutter templates.
  • Supervise and mentor Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to deliver high-quality ABA services.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and adjust programs based on data and clinical judgment.
  • Provide meaningful family guidance and parent training to extend treatment outcomes outside of sessions.
  • Collaborate with our compassion-focused clinical committees to share best practices and advance care quality.
  • Maintain full compliance with BACB ethical guidelines, state regulations, and payer requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive, ethics-first culture that prioritizes client outcomes over service-hour quotas.

Required Qualifications
  • Active BCBA or BCaBA certification through the BACB (or active RBT certification with current enrollment in a graduate program working toward BCBA certification).
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field (if BCBA-certified).
  • Strong working knowledge of BACB ethical guidelines and applicable state and payer regulations.
  • Ability to pass a background check, including criminal history and driving record review.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supervising behavior technicians or RBTs in a clinic-based ABA setting.
  • Experience designing parent and caregiver training programs.
  • Interest in contributing to applied research or presenting at professional conferences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for family collaboration and treatment documentation.

Benefits & Perks
  • Hybrid work schedule with one remote day per week and flexible start/end times to accommodate your Bay Area commute
  • 25 paid days off annually
  • Monthly performance bonus program with up to $18,000 additional annual earning potential
  • 24/7 access to a library of 100+ free CEUs
  • Up to 26 live CEU events per year, including our Annual Clinical Conference
  • Professional Development Stipend (up to $1,000)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, wellness resources, and 401(k) match
  • Annual merit-based salary increases
  • Access to five clinical committees and industry-leading professionals
  • Referral bonuses for helping us grow our team of BTs, RBTs, and BCBAs

Why Trumpet?
  • Ethics First - We never compromise on quality care. We fully comply with BACB, state, and payer guidelines and prioritize meaningful supervision and family guidance over excessive direct-service hours.
  • Clinician Empowerment - You call the clinical shots. Design treatment plans based on client needs, not cookie-cutter templates, and use the full range of your expertise.
  • Unparalleled Support - Collaborate through compassion-focused clinical committees and access a wealth of resources, tools, and goal banks to deliver your best work.
  • Career Growth - Advance your career on clinical or operational tracks across our nationwide network, with unique chances to participate in cutting-edge research through SprigLAB.
