Clinic Based Rbt information

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Clinic Based RBT?

Clinic Based RBTs are responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), working directly with clients to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. Daily tasks often include running structured activities, collecting and recording behavioral data, preparing materials for therapy sessions, and collaborating with clinical supervisors and other team members. You will also participate in regular team meetings, discuss client progress, and may occasionally interact with families to provide updates or support. This role requires flexibility and attention to detail, as each session is customized to meet the unique needs of individual clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Clinic Based RBT position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Clinic Based RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), you need a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, completion of the RBT certification, and experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Familiarity with data collection software, electronic health records, and behavior intervention protocols is typically required. Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help RBTs build positive therapeutic relationships and support clinical goals. These competencies are essential for effectively implementing treatment plans and ensuring the best outcomes for clients in a clinical environment.

What is a Clinic Based RBT?

A Clinic-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works in a clinical setting, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals, often children, with autism or other developmental disabilities. RBTs implement treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help clients develop essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and daily living activities. They use evidence-based techniques to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging ones. In a clinic setting, RBTs may work with multiple clients throughout the day, collaborate with other professionals, and receive ongoing supervision and training to ensure high-quality care.

Pay: $22–$27 per hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

About Aviation ABA Therapy

At Aviation ABA Therapy, we believe every child deserves the chance to soar — and that great therapy starts with a great team. We're a boutique ABA provider that built our clinic from the ground up to be the kind of place where RBTs actually want to show up every day. No lonely drives between houses. No working solo in someone's living room. Here, you walk into a space full of teammates who have your back, a BCBA down the hall, and a culture where people genuinely care about each other.

Our clinic is designed for collaboration — you'll debrief sessions together, trade ideas, celebrate wins, and grow alongside people who are just as passionate about this work as you are. If you've ever felt isolated doing in-home ABA, this is the change you've been looking for.

Clinic Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Position Overview

As a Clinic Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Aviation ABA Therapy, you'll provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to children in a vibrant, team-oriented clinic — not alone in someone's home. You'll work under the supervision of a BCBA who's physically present and accessible, implement individualized treatment plans, and build meaningful skills with your clients in a space that's purpose-built for therapy.

This role is perfect for RBTs who are tired of the grind of in-home work — the long drives, the isolation, the lack of peer support. At Aviation ABA, you're part of a real team from the moment you walk in the door.

Why Join Aviation ABA as a Clinic Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?
  • You're Never On Your Own – Work alongside fellow RBTs and BCBAs every day in a collaborative clinic environment

  • No More Windshield Time – One location, no driving between clients, no mileage stress

  • Competitive Pay – $22–$27/hour based on experience and credentials

  • Clinic-Based Setting – Structured, fun, and fully equipped therapy rooms designed for great sessions

  • Earned Paid Time Off (PTO) – Build PTO as you maintain schedule consistency

  • Direct BCBA Support – Your supervisor is down the hall, not a phone call away

  • Career Growth – Mentorship and supervision hours for those pursuing BCBA certification

  • A Culture That's Actually Real – We're small on purpose. Kindness, respect, and teamwork aren't on a poster — they're how we operate

Clinic Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct 1:1 ABA therapy sessions in the clinic as directed by your supervising BCBA

  • Implement skill-building programs using play-based and structured teaching methods (DTT, NET)

  • Collect and record behavioral data electronically using tablets/iPads after each session

  • Collaborate daily with fellow RBTs and your BCBA on client progress, session strategies, and problem-solving

  • Participate in parent training sessions, team meetings, and generalization activities

  • Assist with clinical assessments, materials preparation, and therapy session organization

  • Follow individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and clinic safety protocols

  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)

  • Step into lead therapist responsibilities when assigned

Clinic Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Requirements
  • Active RBT certification required (or willingness to obtain certification with company support)

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); college coursework in psychology, education, or related field (preferred)

  • Reliable transportation to the clinic location in South Salt Lake

  • Ability to kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and lift up to 25 lbs

  • Comfortable using tablets and iPads for electronic data collection

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Genuine passion for working with children with autism and developmental disabilities

  • Eligible to work in the United States with a valid driver's license and insurance
