Senior Mechanical Design EngineerAbout the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of next-generation electronic products used in food service, retail, and healthcare environments. This role is responsible for taking products from early concept through production launch while partnering with electrical engineering, firmware, product management, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.

As the mechanical subject matter expert, you'll have significant ownership over product architecture, enclosure design, manufacturability, validation testing, and production support. You'll work independently while collaborating across disciplines to deliver innovative, reliable products that scale into manufacturing.

What You'll Do
  • Lead mechanical design efforts from concept development through mass production.
  • Design complex plastic and metal assemblies for electronic products and PCB enclosures.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into robust mechanical engineering solutions.
  • Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and manufacturing documentation using advanced CAD tools.
  • Partner closely with electrical engineers to optimize PCB layouts, enclosure packaging, connectors, thermal performance, and overall system integration.
  • Design for manufacturability and assembly across injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, die-cut components, and fabricated steel assemblies.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure reliable fit and function across production variation.
  • Prototype and iterate designs using 3D printing and hands-on fabrication techniques.
  • Create and execute verification and validation testing for mechanical performance, environmental conditions, and regulatory compliance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5-8+ years of product development experience with a proven record of bringing products from concept through high-volume manufacturing.
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced CAD proficiency with complex assemblies and parametric modeling.
    • Preferred experience with Siemens NX and SolidWorks
    • Equivalent mastery in another enterprise CAD platform will also be considered
  • Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), such as:
    • Injection molding
    • CNC machining
    • Sheet metal
    • Die-cut components
    • Steel fabrication
  • Experience designing electronic enclosures such as:
    • PCB packaging
    • Thermal management
    • Heat sinks and airflow
    • Connector integration
    • IP-rated enclosure design
