Duties
Help
- Serves as the technical anchor for the section, helping oversee daily warehouse and order fulfillment operations, managing aspects of distribution logistics, and coordinating mail management under the guidance of the supervisor.
- Works directly impacts the inventory accuracy, material condition, and processing speed of customer orders, which directly influence customer relations and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Acts as a liaison to fulfill orders, clarify shipping discrepancies, resolve customer complaints, coordinate equipment maintenance, and ensure team cooperation.
- Participates in high-visibility special projects, organizational audits, and routine administrative support activities to maintain overall unit compliance and readiness.
- Safeguards the physical condition, location, and inventory accuracy of materials stored within the facility.

- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Physical Demands: It routinely demands standing, walking over hard surfaces, bending, and light-to-moderate lifting during physical inventories, location surveys, and packaging inspections.
- Work Environment: Work is split between a climate-controlled office environment and a standard warehouse environment. The employee must enforce safety standards to maintain a clean, hazard-free warehouse environment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Lead Supply Technician, PG - 2005 - 07 , you must meet the following requirements:
To minimally qualify for the PG-07: You must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the PG-06 (or equivalent) level or higher. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
1) Managing data to assess operational performance, such as efficiency, costs, resource utilization, and equipment readiness;
2) Providing recommendations for operational improvements; AND
3) Coordinating material shipments and tracking inventory.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (08/10/2026) to be considered.
Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.

Background Investigation:
For a Suitability:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years, depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
The selectee will work shift 1, Monday - Friday.
