About Adden Energy
Adden Energy is developing solid-state batteries for automotive and consumer applications and is located in the Boston Area. Our technology is based on leading research from Harvard University and our team is backed by prominent venture capital investors.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing technical team and work to scale our technology. As a key member of our team, you will make a substantial impact on the company's future and set the stage for how we build batteries for years to come as we work to make a positive impact on climate change.
What you get to do:
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repair of lab equipment
  • Design, modify, and optimize the mechanical fixtures for solid-state battery
  • Design and develop pilot scale electrode coating tools based on the company's cell technology
  • Design the tools and analyze the concept using CAD software such as Solidworks
  • Work with external suppliers to customize the equipment based on manufacturing processes
  • Set up and validate pilot scale slurry mixer, electrode coater, and other cell fabrication equipment
  • Maintain, modify, and optimize the equipment with vendor's guidelines

What you bring to this role:
  • Strong hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair
  • BS or MS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a mechanical design role in a Li ion battery industrial environment
  • Hands-on experience with roll-to-roll coater installation, maintenance, and operation
  • Experience on vendor qualification and customer interactions
  • A desire to hold your own in a fast-moving environment alongside highly technical peers
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with all regulations and quality systems
  • Experience with ceramic solid electrolytes is preferred
