Job description

CARE is an international NGO with local staff and community partners in 100 countries. We create local solutions to poverty and inequality and we seek dignity for everyone every day and during times of crisis. These solutions have a broad range, from disaster response to food and nutrition to education and work for women and girls to healthy mothers and children. CARE puts women and girls at the center of everything we do because when they have equal access to resources, they lift their families and communities out of poverty. Our staff live where they work, which makes us effective at understanding the challenges they face. We've been doing this for 75 years, since World War II. It started with the world's first CARE Package® of food for the post-war hungry in Europe. Our work today is as important as ever, we believe that poverty and inequality are historic injustices that we can end within a generation, for good. If you share our core beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, join us, and Fight with CARE.

SCOPE OF WORK:
This internship supports two priorities for the CARE-WWF Alliance and the CARE Resilient Futures team: building a landscape resource on organizations working at the intersection of climate and women's empowerment, and providing research and communications support across the Alliance's programs, including Sowing Change and the Eco-Savings Groups initiative. The role is part-time over one semester, roughly 10-15 hours per week, with dates to be confirmed based on the intern's availability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Climate and Women's Organizations Map and Database
The intern will identify and catalog organizations, networks, and initiatives working on climate and gender equity, with attention to nature finance, women's financial inclusion, and conservation governance. This includes researching each organization's focus, geography, and potential relevance as a funder, partner, or peer to the Alliance, and compiling the results into an organized, searchable database. The intern will also produce a short summary highlighting notable trends, gaps, and potential connections for the Alliance's partnership and fundraising strategy.
Research and Communications Support
The intern will support the Alliance and CARE Resilient Futures team with research on nature finance, gender equity, and climate resilience topics tied to current proposals, briefs, and strategy work. This includes helping draft and edit LinkedIn content, talking points, and internal updates, assisting with fact-checking and sourcing for funder- and partner-facing materials, and providing light data and document synthesis as needed.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Microsoft Office proficient: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

DESIRED TIMING
  • Proposed timing - September 1 - December 10, 2026, 10-20 hours per week.
