Role: Rapid Response Organizer, Climate Action Campaign
Timeline: We are hiring an organizer for this position beginning August 4th, lasting through September 8th.

General Overview: The Rapid Response Organizer will work in close coordination with the Climate Action Campaign's national campaigns team to build grassroots power in their congressional district. Organizers will execute a rigorous campaign plan that integrates volunteer recruitment, petitioning, rapid response event organizing, coalition building, and digital engagement - all aimed at mobilizing constituents to take action to defend and protect climate solutions. Organizers will be expected to lead from the front by canvassing themselves, moving volunteers through the leadership pipeline, and hitting the ground running.
What You'll Do:
Recruit and Train a Community of Supporters and Volunteers

• Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots actions.
• Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective campaigners among volunteers.
• Keep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks.
• Hold regularly scheduled petitioning canvasses to identify supporters and immediately follow up with potential volunteers identified in the community.
• Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.

Organize High-Volume Visibility Events

• You will be expected to organize and execute exciting, high-visibility in-person events demonstrating support for climate, jobs, and justice
• You'll educate community members about historical climate investments and the urgency of continued actions
• You must nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that volunteers do the same

Drive Campaign Actions

• Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.
• Engage with the public to drive yard sign requests and calls to MOCs to increase visibility for our campaign and public appetite for prioritizing climate

Manage Digital Campaign, Data Management, and Reporting Tools

• Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
• Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community members.
• Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities.
• Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign.

Nice-to-Haves, but Not Required:

• Experience working for nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and/or other issue campaigns.
• Data Management and Evaluation Experience: Experience working with various data management systems and tools, mainly Google Suite.
• Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: Action Network, ThruText, MailChimp, eCRMs like EveryAction, or social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
• Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or Evaluation.
• Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue is a plus, but not required.

• Planning and coordinating high visibility events
• Recruiting, training and developing volunteers to prepare for rapid response including preparing volunteers to make calls, plan events, write letters etc.

Salary, Benefits and Perks:
The salary for this position is $58,000-72,000 annually. Salary is determined through an equity calculator. As part of The Outreach Team's commitment to compensation equity and transparency, we have a no negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement. We do offer a monthly cell phone stipend of $50.
