Career Coach (Pathways to Employment)

Location: West Palm Beach, FL

Schedule: Full-time | M-F 9amโ€“5pm (occasional evenings/weekends)

Position Summary:

Vita Nova is seeking a compassionate and motivated Career Coach to support young adults (ages 18โ€“24) by providing career planning, life skills development, and job readiness training. In this role, you will work at the Spot drop-in center and in the community to guide young adults toward education, employment, and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist youth in exploring careers and building job-readiness skills to obtain employment and improve access to post-secondary and vocational training opportunities
  • Develop individualized career plans and address barriers to employment
  • Provide supportive case management and life skills coaching
  • Conduct pre/post tests to ensure youth gain employability skills are workforce ready
  • Connect youth to employment, education, and support services
  • Facilitate group workshops and partner with employers and agencies
  • Assist youth in attending job interviews or appointments, completing training, or accessing benefits and other services in the community
  • Track progress and outcomes using HMIS and internal documentation systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field preferred
  • 1+ year experience working with youth or young adults preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive youth development
  • Understanding of PBC homelessness system a plus
  • Strong documentation and client engagement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Reliable transportation with a valid FL driver's license and ability to join company insurance policy.
  • Must pass drug screen and a Level 2 background check through DCF Clearinghouse: https://info.flclearinghouse.com (Existing DCF Exemption Waivers will be considered)
