Overview
The Client Strategy Manager reports to the Director of Client Strategy and will provide strategic commercial and practical support on the implementation of strategic and commercial cross-firm client outreach strategy and long-term engagement approaches. This involves operationalizing the firm's cross-practice client outreach strategy, creating compelling client-facing materials and helping to expand the firm's business development coaching program.
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across practices and client teams to advance the firm's important client relationships.
Responsibilities
Client Strategy Support
  • Manage and drive day-to-day execution of strategic client opportunities, including novel strategies, relationship gaps, and other cross-practice efforts that intersect multiple practice groups and clients.
  • Manage the growth of new or strategic client relationships not currently covered by existing client teams, identifying opportunities and coordinating outreach as directed by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the execution on select pitches and engagement strategies in coordination with business development and client teams, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment across the firm. This includes helping to write aspects of the pitch.
  • Develop expertise in the alternative asset management industries by commissioning and conducting business research to keep abreast of industry/market intelligence and to support named strategy(s).
  • Project manage the delivery of client, market and competitor research, tailor the data for partner or client consumption, and share insights if in collaboration with other initiatives.

Business Development Coaching and Training
  • Manage the firm's business development training program focused on business development skills, client relationship management, and networking effectiveness.
  • Expand the firm's business development coaching program by expanding its reach and measuring its impact.
  • Help source and coordinate the firm's business development vendor relationships alongside the Director and the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer.

Tracking, Analytics, and Research
  • Establish and maintain effective internal reporting and communication frameworks to track progress, report on efforts and aggregate data for distribution. This includes but is not limited to our client outreach efforts, business development training analytics, best practices and take-a -ways.
  • Identify trends across efforts to refine go forward strategies.
  • Maintain and leverage historical client knowledge and institutional insights to support business development decisions.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in professional services business development, client strategy, marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing high-quality client presentations and materials.
  • Proven adaptability in the use of AI tools for efficiency of work deliverables.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work effectively with partners, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
Boston: $150,100 - $240,150
Working Conditions
This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
