Through structured training, mentoring, and project-based work, associates develop the ability to translate complex market rules and system behaviors into actionable guidance for Market Participants, positioning them for technical-facing roles within Client Services and across ERCOT. No prior experience in energy markets is required. We are looking for technically curious, analytically minded candidates who are ready to learn and grow.
JOB DUTIES

  • Establish and grow relationships with ERCOT Market Participants through timely, accurate, and complete responses to their questions and issues.
  • Analyze operational scenarios and data, applying ERCOT Market Rules and procedures to support Market Participant's accurate, consistent decision-making.
  • Work toward becoming a technical liaison between ERCOT systems and Market Participants - diagnosing issues, interpreting system behavior, and guiding resolution.
  • Learn Market Participant onboarding, registration, and qualification processes with a focus on technical requirements and system integration.
  • Acquire sufficient understanding of wholesale settlement to resolve settlement disputes.
  • Contribute to market notices, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity of system and market impacts.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving system enhancements, process optimization, and market design changes.
  • Develop documentation, knowledge articles, and training materials focused on systems, tools, and market mechanics.

  • Demonstrate the ability to consume complex technical subjects and condense and deliver them to a non-technical audience.
  • Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and training on market systems, tools, and operational processes.
  • Complete a capstone project that demonstrates your applied understanding of ERCOT systems, market operations, and technical problem-solving.

EXPERIENCE
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data, analyze system behavior, and work within rule-based frameworks.
  • Strong interest in power systems, energy markets, or large-scale operational systems.
