Job description

Job Title: Operations Manager
Pay Grade: 10

Reports to: Vice President of Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager leads the Frontline AATC Team (Communications Center Coordinators, Lost & Found Coordinators, Customer Coordinators and Supervisors) and oversees janitorial contracts to support the day-to-day operation of the Central Passenger Terminal Complex (CPTC), ensuring the facility is safe, secure, clean, and efficiently utilized by passengers and employees.
The AATC and airport operations operate in a fast paced 24 hour a day environment. The Operations Manager develops and implements strategies and procedures to maximize performance among service providers within the AATC portfolio of contract agreements, with a primary focus on janitorial and custodial service providers. Those contracts provide critical services that relate to the customer and employee airport experience. The Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining financial discipline as it applies to the overall departmental budget. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for overseeing staffing, training, scheduling, and accountability of all levels of the frontline team. The Operations Manager will represent AATC as a point of contact for all various agencies within the airport community including the Department of Aviation, Airport Regulatory Agencies, Airlines, as well as provide relevant communications to the AATC team.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Oversee and manage contracted janitorial and custodial service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, cleanliness standards, staffing expectations, and performance objectives.
โ€ข Lead and manage the frontline team through effective communication, empowerment, and coaching techniques. Includes training, motivation, performance appraisals, and adherence to company policy.
โ€ข Improving operational efficiencies and performance through analytics, processes, accountability, and communication with key stakeholders to drive results.
โ€ข Ensure clear responsibility and ownership for monitoring & resolution of concerns within the CPTC. When warranted, serve as the responsible party, and provide updates to the team.
โ€ข Participate in identification, planning, and implementation of initiatives to improve the Operations organization.
โ€ข Represent AATC as required, including attendance at assigned meetings, airport functions, and industry events.
โ€ข Assist with budget planning and manage the Operations budget.
โ€ข Must always ensure proper coverage for the Operational Groups.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
โ€ข Must be able to pass requirements for approval for an ATL badge with customs seal. This includes a 10-year background search by fingerprint analysis.
โ€ข A driver's license is required, subject to successfully passing a driver background check for insurance purposes. Driving record must be void of recent major moving violations.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree or 5 years of similar experience in lieu of a college degree.
โ€ข 5 years of Operations management experience that involved mentoring and professional staff development.
โ€ข Experience overseeing janitorial and custodial operations is preferred.
โ€ข Advance skills in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and can clearly present and articulate ideas. Experience with Octave EAM is a plus.
โ€ข Must be available twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week to provide support during planned or emergency situations or events to include being physically on site if deemed necessary.
โ€ข Scheduled hours will potentially include evening hours and weekend days.
