Job description

MarketWise is seeking Member Services Associates who are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences and building lasting relationships with our subscribers. This role blends customer care with a consultative approach, helping members get the most value from their services while identifying opportunities to enhance their experience.
Our associates are problem-solvers and trusted guides-confident in handling inquiries, resolving issues, and providing thoughtful recommendations when appropriate. You'll manage phone and email queues, assist with account and billing questions, and help customers navigate our platforms. Every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen loyalty and showcase the value of our offerings.

This hybrid role is based at our Baltimore headquarters, with on-site collaboration Tuesday through Thursday and remote flexibility on both Mondays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience by handling inbound calls and emails with professionalism and care
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to manage time and respond promptly to urgent inquiries
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable support to subscribers and potential subscribers, ensuring every interaction reflects MarketWise's commitment to excellence
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our products, campaigns, and promotions to engage confidently in conversations and identify opportunities to add value
  • Resolve customer issues by clarifying concerns, determining root causes, and offering the best solutions quickly and accurately
  • Proactively recognize opportunities to strengthen relationships-whether through retention efforts or introducing services that align with customer needs (prior sales experience not required)
  • Consistently meet department standards for service levels, quality, retention, and performance goals
  • Collaborate with team members to share insights and contribute to a positive, high-performing environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent customer service experience accepted
  • Genuine interest in finance and investing is a plus
  • Self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills; able to remain professional under pressure
  • Consistently punctual and reliable to support team coverage needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and actively listen
  • Comfortable handling a high volume of calls and emails while managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and deliver quality service in challenging situations
  • Skilled at building rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to learn and retain product knowledge through training and communicate options effectively
  • Comfortable working with standard office technology for extended periods
  • Visual and auditory ability for computer and phone tasks
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
