Client Service Associate

Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Client Service Associate to join our team. The Client Service Associate enhances the client experience by delivering exceptional service while proactively driving commercial and small business deposit growth. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and deepening relationships with business clients, while supporting all branch functions and serving as administrative and operational support to the Bank.

Operating as a universal banker, the CSA performs both platform and teller functions and plays a critical role in executing a relationship-based sales strategy, with a strong focus on business development, deposit acquisition, and client retention.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Growth & Business Development
  • Proactively identify and engage small business and commercial clients through in-branch interactions, outbound calling, and local market prospecting.
  • Execute a structured business development calling plan, targeting existing clients, prospects, and Centers of Influence (COIs) such as accountants, attorneys, and real estate professionals.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of commercial deposit opportunities, including operating accounts, money market accounts, and treasury/cash management services.
  • Conduct needs-based discovery conversations with business owners to understand cash flow, liquidity, and operational banking needs.
  • Generate and schedule qualified appointments for Business Bankers and Commercial Relationship Managers.
  • Partner closely with commercial and cash management teams to onboard and expand business relationships.
  • Support onboarding of new business accounts, ensuring a seamless and efficient client experience.
  • Participate in community and networking events to increase visibility and generate new business opportunities within the local market.
Client Relationship Management & Retention
  • Build long-term relationships with business and consumer clients through proactive outreach, regular check-ins, and financial reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to retain and grow deposits by anticipating client needs and offering relevant solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day banking needs while deepening relationships over time.
  • Ensure a high-touch, consultative service approach that differentiates the Bank in the local market.
Sales Execution & Referral Generation
  • Actively contribute to branch sales goals, with a strong emphasis on deposit growth and business account acquisition.
  • Consistently identify and refer opportunities for lending, treasury management, and other specialized services.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge, particularly in business banking and cash management solutions.
  • Execute outbound sales activities including call campaigns, follow-ups, and targeted outreach to drive engagement and appointments.
  • Track pipeline activity, referrals, and outcomes to ensure consistent follow-through and results.
Operations & Risk Management
  • Accurately and efficiently process routine transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and transfers.
  • Open new consumer and business accounts in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Bank policies, procedures, and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and KYC requirements.
  • Support branch operations including ATM balancing, cash recycler management, vault oversight, and audit support.
Team Collaboration & Branch Integration
  • Partner with Branch Managers, Business Bankers, and Commercial Relationship Managers to execute a coordinated commercial growth strategy.
  • Act as a key contributor to a sales and service culture, balancing relationship development with operational excellence.
  • Participate in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and coaching sessions focused on business development performance.
  • Support overall branch objectives, including service quality, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
Performance Expectations
  • Achieve goals related to: business deposit growth, new business account acquisition, outbound calls and appointments set, commercial referrals and pipeline activity.
  • Demonstrate consistent prospecting discipline and relationship follow-up.
