Job Summary:
RSI is currently recruiting an Associate Project Manager Information Technology for our client in Chattanooga. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects according to specifications, within budget cost from initiation through completion. The Associate Project Manager leads Joint Project Teams (JPTs), applies professional principles, practices and techniques to manage and control project schedule, cost and performance risk to ensure project is completed within a certain set of restraints (e.g., time, budget, people, quality, materials) and a high level of quality. This role is generally assigned non-critical standardized small projects, or identifiable elements or functions within a larger project. Work is primarily achieved by an individual or through project teams.
Work and results primarily achieved through the work of others and typically depend on the incumbent's ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization where formal authority is not held. This is a hybrid role and candidates should be in or around Chattanooga, TN.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from initial planning stages to completion, including post-project analysis in compliance with all TVA processes and procedures.
  • Develop full-scale project plans including project scope, accurate and reliable cost estimates, goals and deliverables, and effectively communicate project expectations to management, end users and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner. Proactively communicates project status, issues and risks to management.
  • Defines, estimates and secures resources needed to achieve project goals. Integrates sound cost estimating practices into project plans.
  • Prepare budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes to meet changing requirements, where necessary.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using formal processes and appropriate tools, such as project management software.
  • Tracks project progress, milestones and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met appropriately.
  • Assesses project issues and identifies solutions to meet project goals.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifies potential crises and develop contingency plans.
  • Solves technical and non-technical problems throughout the life of the project.
  • Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
  • Coordinates with other TVA organizations to ensure efficient use of TVA resources.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
  • Ensures project-related documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
  • May coordinate work performed by outside contractors.
  • Ensures projects are consistent with TVA project management strategy/policies and in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Travels to corporate offices and project sites as needed.

Requirements and Education:
  • Minimum of 1 years of work experience in Project Management ideally in the Information Technology field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business management, or technical field, or equivalent education, training and/or related work experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as Project Management Professional (PMP).
Preferred Skills and Proficiencies:
