Join us as a Single Family Office (SFO) Relationship Manager
BBH seeks to hire a business development professional to join our Single Family Office (SFO) practice. We target clients with investment assets over $250 million. Our offering is comprised of proprietary investment strategies, value-added family office services, and capital solutions. The individual will be tasked to source, cultivate and commercialize new relationships. This will include relationship building with family office professionals, ultra-high net worth individuals, and intermediaries such as attorneys and accountants. The individual's primary responsibility will be to discover prospective clients and after identifying a prospect's needs, engage internal resources and expertise to develop and close these opportunities. The position requires a teamwork orientation with active collaboration across BBH teams.
The individual will leverage BBH's internal expertise across investments, tax, trust and estate, and numerous family office services. The individual will report directly to the Head of our Family Office Practice. The position will require the individual to travel extensively.
Success will be measured by the individual's ability to engage qualified prospects, effectively collaborate with investment teams resulting in new business, consistently generate new leads to the pipeline, and cultivate strategically important relationships with family office centers of influence.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Relationship Management and Business Development
  • Focus a significant amount of time on business development.
  • Develop and implement long term new business strategy to maintain active pipeline of opportunities with consistent follow-up.
  • Strong active listening skills to identify and understand clients and prospects' needs.
  • Demonstrate strong judgement in order to match broad services offered by BBH to the identified needs of our clients and prospects
  • Exhibit a strong networking DNA, along with business building and organizational skills
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks with high energy coupled with ability to be flexible and patient
  • Be capable of handling a large number of clients, prospects and potential referral sources with a variety of needs.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of investment offerings including equities, fixed income and alternatives.
  • Demonstrate external "draw" because of personal and professional networks resulting in the ability to source and close business.
  • Ensure all clients are highly satisfied with the service they are receiving as demonstrated by continuing to maintain their assets at BBH, referring their friends and family to the firm and identifying other opportunities.

Risk Management and Administration
  • Exercise sound, professional investment judgment on behalf of clients, while avoiding risks to the firm and demonstrate 100% adherence to the compliance requirements of the business, including Pitchbooks, Investment Policy Statements, Know Your Customer requirements, completing documentation and written records of meetings and discussions.
  • Elevate high level risk issues and oversee Relationship Associate (RA) and Administrative Assistant's efforts relating to the completion of client requests on behalf of the client base.

Business and Professional Leadership
  • Coach, train and mentor RAs and Sr. RAs and provide input on their career development; contribute to developing less experienced RM's.
  • Be perceived by clients as a BBH executive and the senior Business Development specialist on the team.

Qualifications:
  • BA / BS required
  • 8+ years relevant business development or relationship management experience involving equities, bonds, and alternatives; preference for experience with UHNW/Single Family office.
  • Proven record of growing revenues through client acquisition
  • Ability to operate independently with a high level of direct responsibility while also partnering effectively with both fellow business development team members and investment teams.
  • Capable of managing long-term relationships and initiating and cultivating new client relationships
  • Excellent client services skills
  • Superior oral/written communication, analytical and thought leadership skills
  • Knowledge of asset allocation, trust, and fiduciary principles
  • Strong team player
  • Strong work ethic
  • CFA, CFP, and / or MBA a plus

Salary Range
$140,000-$190,000 base salary plus annual incentive

The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
