About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Direct Hire MSP Project Manager position on behalf of our client, an established Managed Services Provider (MSP) in the Atlanta area.


This is a full-time, permanent position directly with our client and a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced project management professional who understands the fast-paced, client-focused nature of an MSP environment.

The MSP Project Manager will lead the Project Management function and oversee the successful delivery of client implementations and professional services projects. This individual will manage and develop Project Managers, oversee project priorities and resources, monitor the overall project portfolio, and serve as a key escalation point for client implementations.

The position works closely with Engineering, Service Desk, Client Success, Sales, Finance, and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with an excellent client experience.


While this individual may occasionally manage strategic projects directly, the primary focus is leading the Project Management team and creating a consistent, accountable, and scalable project delivery operation.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide performance feedback, and support career development.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Balance workloads and assign projects based on capacity, skills, and priorities.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery & Oversight

Oversee multiple concurrent client projects, including:

  • New client onboarding and MSP implementations
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations
  • Network and infrastructure upgrades
  • Cybersecurity implementations
  • Office relocations
  • Hardware deployments
  • Professional services engagements

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the overall project portfolio and proactively identify risks, delays, and resource constraints.
  • Review project plans, milestones, budgets, schedules, and resource assignments.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for implementation and project delivery issues.
  • Ensure client expectations are clearly communicated and appropriately managed.
  • Remove project blockers and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and identify lessons learned.
  • Standardize project documentation, templates, workflows, and SOPs.
  • Ensure adherence to established project management processes.
  • Partner with leadership on resource planning and project forecasting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Sales to review project scope, identify implementation risks, and improve sales-to-delivery handoffs.

Work with Engineering and Service Desk to coordinate technical resources, resolve scheduling conflicts, and improve implementation quality.

Collaborate with Client Success to ensure successful customer transitions and support opportunities following project completion.

Partner with Finance and Billing to ensure projects are ready for billing, track change orders and scope adjustments, and improve project profitability.

Process Improvement

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and project delivery challenges.
  • Improve project templates, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Streamline project workflows.
  • Improve resource utilization.
  • Reduce implementation delays.
  • Strengthen cross-functional communication.
  • Use project performance data to recommend improvements to leadership.

Reporting & KPIs

Maintain visibility into Project Management performance, including:

*Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within an MSP, IT services, or technology consulting environment.
  • 1-2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring Project Managers or Project Coordinators.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent client-facing IT implementations.
  • Strong understanding of MSP operations, managed services delivery, and client onboarding.
  • Experience coordinating technical teams and resources.
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach team members and drive accountability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid/onsite environment in Atlanta, GA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience with Halo PSA or a comparable PSA platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure projects.
  • Familiarity with networking, infrastructure, hardware deployment, and cybersecurity projects.
  • Previous experience leading a Project Management function within an MSP is strongly preferred.
