Job description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of multiple construction projects from award through closeout. This role serves as a key leader within the project team, partnering closely with field leadership, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Mentors and supports the development of Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.
What You'll Do
Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects from preconstruction handoff through project closeout.
  • Develops and maintains project schedules and sequencing of contractual activities including monthly updates. Includes major milestone activities on the project schedule.
  • Partners with Superintendents to ensure alignment on schedule, sequencing, manpower, and project strategy.
  • Represent the company at owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings. Oversees coordination of meeting minutes, change order tracking logs and shop drawing tracking logs.
  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Partners with project coordinator to provide ongoing and accessible support.

Financial & Contract Management
  • Manage overall project financial performance including job costing, forecasting, labor productivity, and cost controls.
  • Conduct subcontractor and supplier buyouts timely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare, review, and issue subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and process change orders for owners and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit owner pay applications; review and approve subcontractor and supplier pay requests.
  • Prepares monthly pay requests to owner/architect.
  • Approves and submits monthly pay requests of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Performs proper cost projections for projects being managed.
  • Assemble Bid Scopes on negotiated projects.

Schedule & Documentation Control
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, including milestone tracking and monthly updates.
  • Generate, track, and resolve RFIs and submittals in a timely manner.
  • Oversee tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Perform constructability reviews on construction documents, particularly for negotiated or design-assist projects.
  • Performs weekly labor productivity reporting with superintendent.
  • Secures lead-time items and coordinate the timely receipt of submittals and shop drawings. Performs proper and timely reviews of shop drawings.

Quality Control & Closeout
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify work is being completed per plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate quality control standards and ensure consistent application of industry best practices.
  • Lead punch list activities, including pre-punch and final punch lists.
  • Oversee coordination of the project closeout requirements including warranties, O&M manuals, and final documentation.
  • Perform jobsite PM inspection reports on Procore.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Foster collaboration between field and office teams.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and solutions-oriented project culture.
  • Serve as a resource for technical questions.

What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent relevant construction experience required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required within the first 12 months of employment.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry with a strong focus in project management.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with field practices, scheduling, codes, OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Advanced proficiency with Procore experience is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera p6, and Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, and Excel) required.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage large-scale commercial construction projects.

Work Environment
  • Work will primarily be performed from the main office and require sitting and/or standing.
  • Occasional travel as driver or passenger to potential job sites and other work-related meetings will be required.
  • Frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. As such, exposure to inside and outside conditions apply along with potential prolonged loud noises.
